because i tried this and it just created another db wit the name aspnetdb.mdf
i am guessing i went wrong somewhere

it turns out that if i want the role manager data to be save in the other db i need to copy that over too =)

Hi everyone,
I am only new in ASP.Net, and I have a problem about GridView and DetaisView.
And I am using MSSQL2005 as my backend for ASP.Net, but why is it that the GridView doesn't show up if there's no records
Is there a way on how to show the empty GridView and DetailsView? I am stuck with it.
I hope you will quide me how to do it.

hi all 
I have using the web extension with asp.net 2.0. problem is that if we leave the browser open and disconnect the internet connection following message dialog box appear:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 12007
in some other cases message show as follows:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerServerErrorException: An unknown error occurred while processing the request on the server. The status code returned from the server was: 2
i guess this problem is occur when the timer having on the open browser page
thats Tick event fire.
please suggest how should handle this problem.

hi guys its me again
i already add the membership and role feature to my sql database named (hogdb)
and is now trying to use hogdb as my provider database instread of the default aspnetdb.
i already tried going to the tab website->asp configuration and tryed to select a different datastore for the provider but all my attempt fail
anyone know how i can change the datastore of my provider infomation such as aspnet_Roles

i have one security form in that form when i will click add button that time small addsecurity form will be open, in that form i want to take security name, code etc fields and ok button .

Use javascript to open a pop window which loads your addsecurity form.
Check the syntax for window.open(), since I am not sure about the syntax... Your addsecurity would have all the code to update the database and close the pop window using window.close() method.
