if you are pulling the data from database, try to do the date formating in sql server like
CONVERT(VARCHAR,column name,101)

mydate and mytime are variables of DateTime.
Use the TemplateField for DateTime fields in GridView and override RowDateBound method of GridView and use the FindControl to find the label in GridViewRow.Assign the formated date to that label. That's it.

In my code below I'm trying to have the user click on an image. Then pass that associated ID of that image (through XML it is associated).

hi all,
Im using FlowPlayer 1.15 for my project(its in ASP.NET 2.0).By using FlowPlayer, we're displaying FLV videos through a aspx page.please go through the steps i've taken for the same
1.I've added FlowPlayerThermo.swf in my project location
2.Also I've created a folder(say Videos) in my project location where i can store the FLV files.
3.In the Play.aspx page, i've written the code

The Page Started working and displaying video also, but its showing an Error like this
" 'FlowPlayer' is undefined " . Please lemme know about this error.
NB: Please Note that i've used only FlowPlayerThermo.swf from the Downloaded File, Its also contains two javasvcript files (flowPlayer.js and swfobject.js), 3 HTML Files (FlowPlayer.html,FlowPlayerJs.html,FlowPlayerJs2.html) and One text file(javascript.txt)...Any suggestions will be appreciated !!

this is the root of the problem. Drop down list control has higher priority.
so we cant send the control back to div control

with datetime.now.dayofweek , i will get sunday, monday etc. but i would like to know is there any way to format these output to 1,2,3 ..7.

You don't get the string "Sunday", you get the enum value DayOfWeek.Sunday. If you then convert the value to a string, you get "Sunday". If you want it as an integer, just convert it to an integer instead.

I have taken a datagrid which has paging with a link button column.
On click of the link button in the grid, i m passing values from the grid to another page thru session.So this is done on the datagrid_ItemCommand event.
Now the problem is..............................
when i click on page number 2 of the datagrid, instead of calling the pageindex change event ....the datagrid_ItemCommand event is called...as it is the property of this event (i.e itemCommand event is the first event of the datagrid to be called before any other event of grid).
Bcoz of this the values which i need to pass on the other page are not found and it gives an error saying...
"Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index "
Can anyone tell me the way by which i can call the pageindex change event before the Itemcommand event....or any other way by which i can avoid this error...!

Do u want to get the selected index??If u r using ASP.NET 1.1 version then u can use e.item.cell[0].text and u can pass this value as
if (e.CommandName == "Select")

}
If 2.0 version then use datakeys.
U dont need to use session here.

Probably using Request.Params["__EVENTTARGET"] you can get the control name which caused the postback.
