Hi,

I am trying to use a documentstream of a pdf file to show that in a webbrowser component. I am trying to use the DocumentStream property of the .NET 2.0 Webbrowser component. I have this code:

byte[] rapport = rs.GetStreamFromRender();<br />
                System.IO.MemoryStream stream = new System.IO.MemoryStream();<br />
                stream.Write(rapport, 0, rapport.Length);<br />
                webBrowser1.DocumentStream = stream;

The stream holds the pdf file correctly but the webbrowser component never shows the page although the DocumentStream property is filled. It just shows an empty page.

Does anyone have an idea how to show the streamed page ??

Hi all,

I looked around at different ways to connect to databases. Then I saw that some people have the loads and other commands as stored procedures in the database, is it better to do it like that or is it better to have the loads and those commands in the application itself?

Hi Friend'z

I have MDI application which contains multiple forms, From Main page's main menu i have opened login form. after entering login details, i have to go to main page. i'm going to another page but login page wil not b closing. the Login form should be closed after main page is opened.

How can i do it?

pl help me friends... thanks in advance!

you can hide first the login form before you open the main form. Simply by doing this.

[LoginFormName].Hide()
[MainFormName].Show()

Normally, you would want to hide the login form so that the application will not quit. But if the login form is not your startup form you can close the close the login form.

[MainFormName].Show()
[LoginFormName].Close()

Notice that the main from will show first then the login form will close. If you do it the other way, the login form will not be able to call the method '[MainFormName].Show()'

i have a MDIform wich contains two subforms, when i click on the a button of a form the other forms pups up, and the first form should disappear,
how to do this,
do we have any provision to communicate between two forms,--like of Session
of webpages,
please help me

If Form1 is your main form and Form2 is your subform, on the button click event write

Form2 f = new Form2();<br />
f.Show();<br />
this.Hide();

Although we should remove memory use for Form1 but I dont know how too Frown | :(

Look for the static Main method of your application. If you created your project with VS2005 its in a separate class called Program otherwise it's in the first form created. There you find the following line of code (the name of the form class may be another):

Application.Run(new Form1());

If you want another starting form simply change the type of the instance that gets created and then passed to Application.Run.

You can find the following code in the main.
Application.Run(new Form1());
If you want to run the form2 then simply change this to
Application.Run(new Form2());

Hi,
I am working with C# and Crystal reports 10 and C# 1.1 VS 2003. When I run my project i get following error:
"A Crystal Reports job failed because a free license could not be obtained in the time allocated. More licenses can be purchased direct from Crystal Decisions or through the Crystal Decisions Online Store."
Also I have another project which is working fine with the same things, so I think license for Crystal reports exists, and this is some thing else.
Also sorry if this is not the right place to post this question.

I am having same problem ... I am using Crystal Report 10 with VS2003. Surprisingly, report shows on Release Mode but not in Debug Mode Cry | :((

i have a window service and window application two different projects.
i am hendling a window service through window application for start, stop, Restarting the service. i am checking service using Timer in window Application for every 500 interval. but i want it without using Timer it should check the service status, if i stop service(in services) then it automatically show Stop in Window Application.

There are several ways to do this.

One easy way is to write it to windows log entry using the EventLog class. In the service you'll create a source with your service's name, and in the Stop() method of the service, you write an entry to the Log. In the applications use the same class to monitor that log. When an entry is written an event called EntryWritten will be raised.

PS.
This may not work when you service has been forcibly ended using the task manager.

Hi,

How can i passed values from one form to another form without using help of constructor.
suppose FormA has a variable i=4 that values i want to send to FormB.
it can passed by constructor. like FormB oFormB=new FormB(i).

But i want to know that is there any other way to passing value.

Pls help me if possible give a example with code.
