How do i enable datagrid editting in code

Hi,

I've got a gridview control on a page which is bound to a custom collection. All the properties of the objects in my collection are readwrite apart from the ID which is bound as readonly. I've added edit buttons to each row but i can't find the 'Enable Edit' Property on the datagrid. All the axamples i've found appear to use design time binding.

Is it possible to bind a collection of objects to a grid at runtime and edit them in situ?

HI all,

There's any measure or method for a better display and functionality of Asp.net controls in Mozilla browser.coz all the controls are working fine in IE but the textboxes are compressing,validators are not working in the Mozilla.

Pls help me in this issue.

hi friends

i m developing one web based app. in vb.net
in the app. i want to manually debug through break point-F9
but when the error goes into the error line, app. wont stop but it gives disassembly error like:

there is no source code available for the current location

What line are you trying to debug? Is it your code, from another assembly, or from a third party?

Hi,

I'm also faced similar problem earlier. What I have done is stopped all .net applications including ending the task of aspnet_wp.exe and compiled it again in debug mode. It will work. You can see ASPNet_wp.exe on right-clicking the task bar and in the Processes Tab of Task Manager. Check whether the settings in IIS correctly and the system you are debugging have administrative rights.

I am using classic asp. I just wonder how to get the value of the checkbox once the button submit will be clicked.

Actually, this is only a sort of small test asp program for checkbox value. Because if I am successful with this test program I will bring the concept to my actual program using class asp that will save all the multiple checkbox that were selected into the mssql2000.

I want the text that is appearing on the link should open in the explorer but it is not doing that way. Like if www.rediff.com is being displayed then i want this to open in explorer but it opens http://localhost/WebsiteLogix/www.rediff.com

I'm trying to add a small (tiny!) javascript function to my ASP project.

I'm using 2.0 and C#. My site uses Master pages so I don't think I can directly edit the element.

The following shows my master page, to which I'm trying to add a javascript function - just for testing at the moment.

2 questions -
1) The current code gives a CS0246 error - "The type or namespace name 'function' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)" for both 'var' and 'function. What do I need in order to declare functions this way?
2) Given that I can't edit the element, how do I actually call the function? Do I call it from within the Page_Load event?

I think the better question is what exactly are you trying to do. This is some sample code just to try to get some javascript working. What is your real question? To call a javascript function you can do it in the page load. You have to register the javascript like this:

    // Check to see if the startup script is already registered.
    if (!cs.IsStartupScriptRegistered(cstype, "myFunc"))

    }

The real use will be to declare a couple of functions to allow me to open and close a popup window. I have users log in on one page, from where I want to launch the popup which runs a seperate chatbot application. Users then play around in other pages until they log out. When they hit the log out button I want to be able to close the chatbot. A better implementation would be to ceate a javascript library and include it in the pages.

MasterPages and code behind aren't the problem. If they are hindering things for you, you need to do more research on usage.

This doesn't "call" the javascript. It places the script at the top (or at least near the top) of the rendered output.

It seems that because I have a Master page which includes a ContentPlaceHolder I can't add text... I get the following error if I do:
"Validation (XHTML 1.0 Transitional): Text is not allowed between the opening and closing tags for element body'."

If I type onLoad="myFunction" into the it shows the text 'onload' at the top of the rendered page... so what am I doing wrong here?
