Hello,
I am using an updater application block to download a new version.
On my server I have setup this file structure.
Northwind/1.0.0.0
I have a new versions in the northwind directory. e.g. 1.0.0.0, 2.0.0.0, 3.0.0.0 etc.
However, the problem is when i change the file structure to like this 1.0.0.1 or 1.0.0.2.
I get this error in the updaterLog:<br />
[BITSDownloader] : <br />
The BITS service returned an error for the job with the ID '57e5dfaa-4f6e-4043-ba5a-84544133b16b'; <br />
the job's name and description are 'BITS_Files_Download_Job' and 'BITS_Files_Download_Job'. <br />
The BITS service error message for this job is <br />
'The requested URL does not exist on the server.

Hi all,
Problem
---------
Im having a big issue when running a .net 2.0 exe developed in vb.net using vs 2005, from a "unc network share" that connects to a database on that server where the share resides on i get an error when executing a sql command. (SQL 2000 db) 
Ive checked the following.
---------------------------------------------
1) The folder as full access rights.
2) The connection string connects fine from my local pc as it has the connection to the db server.
3) im not using code access security when running the code.

Hi,
Is there a way to connect to VPN network (connection is already made) but I need my application to be able to connect to VPN network by user action instead of having user to go trough network connections to connect to it. And also if there is a way knowing if we are connected to VPN or not. I have saw some code doing connection by calling rasphone.exe switch but then we don`t have connection status.

Once the VPN session is esatblished, it's just like your machine was connected to the target network directly.

This is not a good idea. There are various "dailers" that will start a VPN connection, but none of them have a common API you use use. You'd have to rely on the user telling your software which VPN software they're using and which version, and supply code to interact with each VPN client you want to support.

I have downloaded the Enterprise Library May 3.1.
I run the Enterprise Library Configuration and create a new application. I right click on the new application and I should see an option to add the "Updater Application Block Configuration".
I am trying to create a self-updating program and have been following this article on code project.

Can anyone please explain why I don't have the updater Application Block configuration?

Don't cross post. You've already been answered in the C# forum.
No, there is NOTHING in the .NET Framework or Garbage Collector that can compensate for a memory leak in an unmanaged code component.

No. There is no version of the VB6 runtime for PocketPC, that I know of anyway.

Hi,
I used to have an application which used TTS. The application was working fine for about a year.
Recently (After Installing .NET 3.0? - I'm not sure) I'm unable to run this application any more.
Uhenever I use the SpVoice.Speak(textToSpeak, speechflags) I get the following error:
{"Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004503A"}<br />
Data - {System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal} -{System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal} Count - 0<br />
Source - "Interop.SpeechLib"
I beleve that this is a marshaling problem because when I re-build my project I get lots of warning such as:
Warning 1 At least one of the arguments for 'SpObjectTokenCategory.GetStringValue' cannot be marshaled by the runtime marshaler. Such arguments will therefore be passed as a pointer and may require unsafe code to manipulate.
I've made no changes in my code whatsoever.
Any help is appreciated

I have an app set up as a remoting server. It's all tested and working as long as I use Singleton server-activation.
I've changed the code to use client-activation. I've tried Activator.CreateInstance(...) and RegisterActivatedClientType(...) / new and both show the same problem:
The initial connection succeeds and I get a transparent proxy but the first call to the server hangs and never returns. I have even tried creating my own sponsor but the call to Register hangs, too.
This is all using a TCP channel and running on Vista.
Please suggest what might be wrong or what I should try next.

Dear All,
I am looking for a way to monitor network traffic, such as total number of bytes have been upload / download.
Could anybody give me some clues of doing this? Either using SDK (C++) or .NET Class (C#) would be nice.
