Did you try creating a mutex? As far as I know, that is the general solution to such problem, and can be used in any language, since is supported by the OS through APIs. If CreateMutex() returns ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS means there's an already running instance of your application.

crystal report printing in default paper size

i want a report in 5x6 inch. for that i made a report in that size. i done my all other coding in vb.net. when i took print out of the report its comming in letter ize.

i made a custom print size in server properties of printer.
and set it as default printer. while checking the print dialog box i found out that its showing letter in paper size

Can any one help me with this... i am in great trouble...

hi abhilash,
there is a trick in my mind
increase page footer section height according to your page size.My mean is that,height of your report is 6 inch . Now increase the page footer height by 5 inch(since letter size paper height is 11 inch) & left incrasing area of page footer section empty.

hope this helps

one more thing .if you change your printer( by right click on report at design time) to dot matrix printer,then custom paper appear in print dialog box.

not really yar.... the problem is that its a roll paper... so if u put too much footer means it will be wate of paper...

I need call a window console application from the asp.net page; however, if I use the impersonate in the web config and use the administrator as the impersonate user, when we call the application, the system would raise a error. How to solve the problem? The detail information as below:
1) Window Console application (Call the Excel to generate a report as the Excel format)
2) CallBatch.aspx (create a process to run the window console application using the impersonate
<identity impersonate="true" userid="<Domain">\<administrator user=""> Password= />
3)Set the permission for the Excel DCOM component.

Why can't you just move the code from the console app into your code behind. You want to run this on the server, right ?

Yes, we could move the code from the console app into the code behind; as your said, we need run it on the server as well. On the other hand, even if we move the code, the same permission problem still happens.

hi, im new here,

say here's a list box with different items:
apple
54321
cookie
sos101
1111

from above there are 5 lines of items in a listbox,
how to do something like reading the number of the line?
like text1.text = "read line 3"
which the text1 textbox will appear cookie
how to do that?

You'd write something like this

text1.text = ListBox1.Items.Item(2).ToString()

The array holding the items is zero based, which means the 3rd item is really the 2nd element in the array.

that's correct. It's zero based indexing starting at the top. The last item will always be listbox1.items.count - 1. Remember the minus 1 when working with listboxes. You can also check if a listbox has any item selected through:

if listbox1.selectedindex = -1 then<br />
'none is selected<br />
end if

Display.Text = JobList.Items.Item(LineNumber.Text).ToString
there are 2 textboxs: Display.Text, LineNumber.Text
and 1 listbox: JobList
but an error returned...

or is it possible to do some text change, such as make it bold,
or add some extra text like:
