Below is the list of assemblies referenced in the web.config file. In my desktop, the Crystal Reports XI has been installed & the reports has been viewed in the web pages.
(Crystal reports assembly Version 10.2.3600.0 --- from GAC)
BUT, in my deployment remote server, DOTNET framework 2.0 has been installed & (Crystal reports assembly Version 11.5.3300.0 --- from GAC). The reports can’t be viewed using the website.
How can I refer the crystal reports assembly Version 11.5.3300.0 (.dll) in deployment server?

Hi
I am using C# and ASP.Net for a web application. I have the following in the global.asax file:
<%@ Application Language="C#" %><br />
<br />
<br />
<script runat="server"><br />
<br />
<br />
void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) <br />
{<br />
}<br />
<br />
void Application_End(object sender, EventArgs e) <br />
{<br />
}<br />
<br />
void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e) <br />
{ <br />
<br />
}<br />
<br />
void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) <br />
{<br />
<br />
}<br />
<br />
void Session_End(object sender, EventArgs e) <br />
{<br />
<br />
}<br />
<br />
<br />
protected void Application_AuthenticateRequest(Object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
if (HttpContext.Current.User != null)<br />
{<br />
if (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated)<br />
{<br />
if (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity is FormsIdentity)<br />
{<br />
FormsIdentity id = (FormsIdentity)HttpContext.Current.User.Identity;<br />
FormsAuthenticationTicket ticket = id.Ticket;<br />
<br />
string userData = ticket.UserData;<br />
string[] roles = userData.Split(',');<br />
HttpContext.Current.User = new GenericPrincipal(id, roles);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}<br />
<br />
<br />
</script><br />
It gives the following message when I compile it:
The type or namespace name 'GenericPrincipal' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)
How do use namespaces in the global.asax file? When I add
using System.Security.Principal;
it gives the following error: Invalid token 'using' in class, struct, or interface member declaration.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi all,
I am publishing my web site by right clicking the solution - publish -
In the out put bin folder there exists around 600 files around 200 Dll's and 400 files with extensions dot compiled . I dont know where these came from. Am i doing the publish right or not? By the way my application is working ok. Another question also is that if i need to change some thing do i need to upload all the bin folder again?
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah, the publishing thing is changed from VS 2003 to 2005. With SP 1 installed, you may even not be able to publish your web project using right mouse > Publish Website. There is a Web Deployment Project[^] available for download which does the trick pretty neatly!

ASPnoob wrote: Could not load type 'VBNetUpload.Global'
OK, I assume VBNetUpload is the namespace of your application. Did you upload the .vb files ? Did you upload the contents of your bin directory ? You're either missing the dll that contains your code, or you're missing the .vb files, or you're missing a dependancy that stops those files from loading.

Hi,
Just declare the variables for the Paramater values
eg. Sttring _UserName=String.Empty;
_UserName=txtUserName.Text.Trim();
...........
///Now Here write your CommandText Like this
MyInsCmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO UserT (UserName, ...)VALUES (_UserName, ...)";
Or
///Write your CommandText directly with values
MyInsCmd.CommandText = "INSERT INTO UserT (UserName, ...)VALUES (Naresh, ...)";

Hi,
I am trying to access all controls of a page so that I can Check whether they are textboxex or radiobuttons.
I am trying the following code But I am unable to access these controls in a collection.
foreach(Control objcontrol in Page.Controls)
{
if (objcontrol is TextBox)
{
TextBox tx = (TextBox)objcontrol;
...
Can anyone suggest me proper to access all controls in a collection plz????
hiiiiii
|
|
|
|
|
Within "foreach" you can "access" all the controls.. but you can not change the state of objects within.
If that is the requirement, then you better access them usin "for" loop and access the controls using indexes.
In case, it doesnt answers your questions. PLease be more elaborate about the same.
Regards.

I have a Multiview with 3 view placed inside.
There is also a RadioButton List which cycles through the 3 different views,
When I select them
The radio button options will have
* View 1
* View 2
* View 3
I would like to know how to display all 3 view at the same time.
In this case i thought of having this option on the radiolist button
* View 1
* View 2
* View 3
* View All the above

Hi,
I have a very interesting problem, my code doesn't show any errors or exceptions, but when I'm running the web-page, it still doesn't work properly. I want to bind an image on an image control, which is inside the Datalist and Datalist is inside the DetailsView. When I'm debugging the code, it shows me the imageURL path very well, but doesn't show me the image in the browser.
My Select statement si : SelectCommand="SELECT [Source] FROM [Images] WHERE ([NID] = @NID)
Here is my code on page load:
<br />
string nID = Request.QueryString["nID"].ToString();<br />
<br />
DataView view = (DataView)ImagesSqlDataSource.Select(DataSourceSelectArguments.Empty);<br />
int count = (int)view.Table.Rows.Count;<br />
Label username = (Label)NDetailsView.FindControl("UsernameLabel");<br />
DataList ImagesDataList = (DataList)NDetailsView.FindControl("ImagesDataList");<br />
<br />
for (int i = 0; i < count; i++)<br />
{<br />
Image image = (Image)ImagesDataList.Items[i].FindControl("ImageControl");<br />
string imagename = (string)view.Table.Rows[i].ItemArray[0];<br />
image.ImageUrl = Request.PhysicalApplicationPath + @"Images\" + username.Text + "\\" + nID + "\\" + imagename;<br />
<br />
}
Thank you
|
|
|
|
|
You are using Request.PhysicalApplicationPath which is not correct. This will translate to c:\inetputb\wwwroot or something like that.
Easiest way to fix the issue is:
image.ImageUrl = new StringBuilder(@"~/Images/").Append(username.Text)
.Append(nID).Append("/").Append(imagename).ToString();

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are a reseller for godaddy only for our email since we don't want to mess with email servers too much but we are having major support requests from our customers regarding their godaddy email - like people they send to not getting their email and such. Of course calling godaddy regarding this doesn't really help since they pretty much say it's our customers isp (which is just bull), but I would love to know if anyone else is having this problem and if so a solution? or if not an easy way to switch to someone else for our customers email accounts?
