can anybody help to retrive image from the database using ajax.

Your real issue is, if the XML coming back from the database, through AJAX, contains the bytes of a bitmap, they will need to be encoded, how expensive will it be to decode them in javascript, and how do you display them ? A better approach is to have your images in your file system, the paths in your database, and have AJAX create IMG tags based on paths passed back.

i understood buddy,actually am having an xml file which contains the links of some 50 images.now i need to retrive the xml file by specifying the url using ajax through web browser.the images could be intially in thumbnails.
wat would be the better option to do this.?

That is impossible. The ArrayList exists in the server code, and Javascript is client code.
You can't share objects between server code and client code. There are two reasons for this, which each by themselves makes it impossible:
:: The server code and client code doesn't exist in the same place.
:: The server code and client code doesn't exist at the same time.
The server code runs on the server to create the web page. At this time the client code doesn't exist. The page is sent to the browser, and the client code is executed. At this time the server code is no longer running.
If you want to send data from the server code to the client code, you put the data in the web page that is created. For example by creating Javascript code that recreates the data, or putting it in hidden fields in a form on the page.
You can't send the data back to the server code that sent the data, as that code is no longer running. You have to make a new request to the server so that the execution of the code starts over. You have to send the manipulated data in the request, for example by putting it in hidden fields in a form and posting the form.

Hi Guys,
I am using ASP.Net 2.0 with VB code-behind page. But I have a problem in displaying the data from excel. It says that - "The microsoft Jet database engine could not find 'A1'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and path name correctly."
And as I check my xls file there is a column for "A1".
Did I missed something in the source code?

"WSE 2.0 SP3 is also supported on .NET Framework 2.0. WSE 2.0 SP3 does not have design time support with Visual Studio 2005 and hence is not supported when used with Visual Studio 2005. WSE 2.0 SP3 only has design time support with Visual Studio 2003."
...still how can I generate all this things? I can't migrate to WSE 3.0 because system requirements.
I can't get the myprojectWSE build without wse2.

Well, it depend on your host that you bought.
For example, your web application is required to have two different databases. so, you have to ask your host whether they allow you to create two databases. The same way for mapping domain name. You have to find out whether it's allowed to map multiple domain to your account.. The limitation are vary from one host to another.... so, we can't say exactly for your question.. We suggest you to contact with the your host.

Salam , how are you guys ? i hope everything is good
well , i'm new in web developement & i'm trying to find out some ASP tutorials or books but i can't cuz when i type ASP or traditional ASP in Google i get the results concerning the new ASP.Net 1.x or 2.0 but i want to try out the traditional one first to know basics then move to this latest versions , can some body help me please ?

In my opinion however, you won't really gain anything from learning ASP first. ASP and ASP.NET are very different animals.

Salam , yeh i know but if you can see the ASP.Net ust makes the task easy for ya , for example the authentication & autorization , when i was studiying ASP.Net 2.0 from the asp.net web site i didn't know what is happening bihind scenes , now i know that there is something called cooky & session variable ........ understand ?? this is why i want to start out with classic asp
i know a jewish website that gives great books for free but i don't remember the link !! so baaaad  P

This is just plain dumb. ASP was not designed in any way. Learning it will not help you in any way. In fact, you access cookies, the query string, and so on exactly the same way in ASP and ASP.NET.
ASP is a nightmare, all it will teach you is bad habits which will corrupt your attempts to learn ASP.NET.

I'm afraid that there's almost no way to detect it directly. It's by default a version dependent features. For example, IE 6 on Windows XP SP2 and IE 7 now allow you to specify 128-bit strong encryption for use outside US. Previous versions of IE such as IE 5.0 and IE 5.5, can't use strong encryption outside US. They're only allowed to use weaker encryption than 128-bit.

i am developing a website in which i want two frame. basicaly i want a navigation frame.in this frame the value of links will be accessed from database.all the links will be having same linked page. But i want the page that is going to be opened in another frame should recieve the value of link.
