Is there a way to check that the control on the page is derived from IKSSControl?
You could try something like this:
IKSSControl kssControl = myControl as IKSSControl;
if (kssControl != null)
{
}

Hi all,
I am working on ASP.net 2.0 and SQL server 2005 . I am having problem in publishing my crystal report .
I have published the website in IIS , all my webforms works fine only problem is with crystal report .Whenever i try to open Crystal report , it gives Login box requesting for login ID and password ,if i continously click on cancel in login box ,it then succesfully displays data . So i think there is no problem in retrieving data from database into the Crystal report , but can anyone tell me why am i getting that login box .
Thanks in advance

I am using .net 2.0 framework. Dlls created with .Net 2.0 unable to creatae log files using log4net.dll. I have already mentioned th below mentioned code in Application_Start:
DomConfigure.Configure(); and all the log4net related configuration information appended in web.config.
But still, it is not giving any error but also not creating any og files in the desired location.
Please can anyone suggest any solution for this?
surprisingly, log files are created in local machine; but not in the deployed server.
Thanks,
Sonali
Thanks,

Dear freinds,
i have an web application with a configuration file. and i have share point installed in my system.
share point configuration file is available in "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\web.config"
my web application configration file is available in "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\sampleApplication\web.config"
when i access my web site it refers the share point configration file and throws this error message like this "The XML file web.config could not be loaded. Access to the path "c:\inetpub\wwwroot\web.config" is denied."
if i remove the share point configuration file it works fine.
what shall i do now?
i want both to work at a time.
any idea? any link?
thank u

You need to set sampleApplication as an Application in IIS. In the IIS Manager, create a new virtual directory and point this to the sampleApplication site.
If you already have a site on this directory, ensure that it is an application by right clicking and selecting properties on the site. Then, if the Application Settings (in the Virtual Directory tab) has a button called Create you need to press it.
Deja View - the feeling that you've seen this post before.

i have created virtual directoy.
i have mentioned in my question that it works fine. when there is no
web.config file in c:\inetpub\wwwroot
i think this error will occer for all. pleas do past any empty or diffrent confing file in c:\inetpub\wwwroot.
and try to run a web application which has diffrent web config compared to newly pasted web config.
if ur applicatoin works fine please do tell me what are the steps u have followed.

Urgent... How do I compare the name of the file with the system date? in ASP
For example:
I have a file named "12.09.07.pdf" and need to compare the date "12.09.07" within the file name to the system date, say today is 12/09/07.
Thank you

try this code
DateTime fileDate;<br />
if(DateTime.TryParse(Path.GetFileName(filename),out fileDate))<br />
{<br />
if(fileDate==DateTime.Now)<br />
{<br />
}<br />
}<br />

You may wish to change that to DateTime.Today because the OP only posted about dates, his files names are not to millisecond accuracy which is what your code requires.

showonques(ddlSecurityQues.SelectedIndex)-- This is wrong. This (ddlSecurityQues.SelectedIndex) doesn't work on the client-side. try the below function without passing the parameter. It may work.
<script language=javascript><br />
function showownques()<br />
{<br />
var value = document.getElementById("ddlSecurityQues")[document.getElementById("ddlSecurityQues").selectedIndex].value;<br />
if(value==9)<br />
{<br />
txtOwnQues.Visible = true;<br />
SetFocus(txtOwnQues);<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
txtOwnQues.Visible = false;<br />
SetFocus(txtAnswer);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
}</script>

Did you do a View Source so see if the js call was added to your DDL?
Try adding the Javascript in your code behind (like the pageload event) rather than in the aspx or ascx file. Using Atttributes.Add like this:
ddlSecurityQues.Attributes.Add("onchange" , "showonques(this);")
Then in your js function you can can get the selected index from the combo box passed into the function.

Can i use the Dock Property for the label control in asp.net.

No. Label Control in ASP.NET Doesn't have Dock Property. You can do the Alignment and Formating by applying styles on the HTML Part.

I am not sure whether this question has been answered already or not. If yes could you please send me the link.
I have an internet application with form authentication. Now I have added a new folder. What I want to do now is when the user tries to access web page(s) under this folder I want to display pop up window asking them to enter user id and password. If the user belong to the organisation and if they enter the correct details then they can see the content of that web page(s)otherwise not. Any info is really appreciated.
