Why is this important to you ? What is the benefit of using DIV rather than table ?? If it is the performance issue I dont think this will have much effect.

I just wanted to share an observation. Correct me if I am wrong. Most of the web-based HTML Editors be it the Yahoo Mail beta, Windows Live Compose Editor etc. when composing HTML messages and when we embolden the text using 'B' toolbar icon (CP 'B' icon seems to stand out  ), in the generated HTML, I see they use STRONG tag instead of B tag.
Here are my queries:
1) Are there any visible difference between STRONG and B?
2) I feel that in most of the cases B should hold good at least to compress the page size. Assuming there are twenty-five such emboldened text, we have 17 character sets for every bold operation like
< > STRONG repeating twice (making 16) and a closing / in the second tag.
3) I accept that a few people might reply giving GZip Encoding of the response stream. But on the forefront, if we could use a cheaper way than a costly way, it is more elegant right?

No, there is no visible difference on the page. The only reason for using the latter versions os for the benefit of screen readers, which may use a different inflection when coming across them. The idea is to use the former versions if all you want is a visual effect, and the latter if you want to make a contextual one.
It's just the accessibility police getting trigger happy again.

Could someone tell me why the onfocus and onblur events only fire once. For example, using the code below, when you bring IE to the foreground the onfocus event fires and when you click on another windows (outside of that instance of IE) the onblur event fires, very good. But I can not get it to fire again, unless I reload the code. I expected these events to keep firing for each time the browser gets and loses focus. Is there something I'm missing or is that just a limitation of IE v7?
Here is a sample test:

i wrote a xml web service. i want to use in html. i look a lot of websites i didn't find any answers i should write to asp.net forums but i can't reset my password anyway ...

and asmx file is members.asmx
there is Register method which takes some string values, output parameters and returns a bool variable.
i want to call this on a click of link ... i did like that;

Hi, Please help me, i want to display stock status on the main page (New Product section) with price condition. I have two conditions
1- if QTY is ==0 than display [b]"Out of Stock"[/b] and if QTY>0 than display [b]"In Stock"[/b]
2- if Price is ==0 than display [b] "Call 4 Price" and if price is >0 than display [b]"Product Price"[/b].

Hello every one
I have one strange problem.
My site work very well in IE & firefox
But in Safari public beta 3 browser it seem to me that the button click event is not work first time. It just reload the page and do nothing.
I check my code but it didn't show any error.
I don't understand what is the problem 
Can any one tell me what is the problem

Start the page in debug mode and set breakpoints to see what happens when the page reloads. Examine the contents of the Request.Form collection to see if the name of the button exists as an item in the form data.

I already debug page so many time amd it work fine,
Even the event of that button is also fire and all the code working fine.
It just show nothing and after clicking againg page working fine. i m not understand wat is the problem here.
Also i forgot to tell that i also use ajax.net 1.0 framwork.

well when the button is click it show data on table and display grid data.
But at first time when i click it doesnt display any thing and when i click it next time it display perfact.

I am also facing this problem in my project.
I have no clue why its happening with safari only. Although i am using MS Ajax in my pages
but problem persists even after i remove the ajax.
Will post the solution here as soon as i find it.

I am doing something that I thought was very simple, but apparently it is not.
I have 10 different ads, name xxx1.htm, xxx2.htm, etc...
My .asp page creates a random number, this part is working...
but I want to pass that number into an include file statement
is this possible?
I have tried all kinds of different ways for the last two hours, I am stumped.

No, that is not possible. You can't use code to change the include, as the include is done before the code is executed.
Use the FileSystemObject object to read the file and Response.Write the contents to the page.

I haven't tried working trusted IP in my ASP.Net project. Is this possible?
I would like to let some of the users have access in one of my aspx pages by filtering the IP.
What is/are the configuration needed in my web server and in one of my aspx pages?

Sure you can.
If you are using IIS
1) Go to the IIS
2) Select and do right click on the file
3) Select properties.
4) Go to file security Tab
6) In that the second group : Ip address and domain name restriction.
7) Click Edit
8) Click add and add the ip address you want to deny/grant access.

Hello laddie,
I followed the steps you shared to me, but here in my machine the "IP address and domain name restrictions" button is disabled.
And as of this moment I am only using a workstation (Not Server) for testing before configuring my file at the web server.
But why is it, the button here is disabled. And my user type is "Administrator"
I can't test until I can get into the "IP address and domain name restrictions"
What do you think is the problem?

That is strange?. Which OS does your WS run ?.Is your account part of any domain ?

One of the workstationss that i tested here is part of the domain. And the other pc is not part of the domain. Both PCs here has Administrator privilege. And both are Windows XP.
I was puzzled also if why does the button is disabled.
