Not necessary. Most IIS webservers have default.aspx as one of the default documents being served and hence we need not explicitly type http://www.codeproject.com/default.aspx. Isn't it?

Hi Chris,
Has this functionality been made available yet? It would be nice if CodeProject would track users voting habits, and suspend those who feel a univote is appropriate nearly all the time.
I just finished my latest... I don't feel it is '1' work.

Unforunately we're flat out tidying up last minute core functionality but a histogram is one of the first things I plan on seeing if we can efficiently include.
Everything's being tuned for load so we've had to put off some fun stuff until we are sure it won't impact too much. At the worst we'll just use some clever caching

hello,
I've seen many forums over the internet whose posts are shown in google when u try to search for any given problem but I havent seen the posts on the Code project forums being directly accessible thru Google. I know there is a searching facility with in the article/Forums but I think it would be really nice if these posts could be made available globally thru Google.
What do u say abt that

I think spiders are turned off through robots.txt or a similar means. My other guess would be because of too much of dynamic URLs like querystrings, Google is just visiting the main page and going away.
I feel, a CP admin should be able to better advise on this anyway.

There will never be enough popular demand if everybody jokes and replies nay. I think a Sharepoint forum is a good idea.

In that case, I feel CP should put up a Forum Request Poll and keep adding the topics that are being requested. I feel the most common topics that are being requested are:
1) Sharepoint
2) Silverlight
3) Php (Non Microsoft)

Hi Chris,
Currently the use of images as custom bullets in lists in articles is disallowed in global.css. Would you re-consider this for UL lists? As an example, here is a list of 3 items, once with custom bullets, the second time with standard bullets: [^]
I believe this would be helpful in the visual presentation of articles - for example, use of red, yellow, green bullets to indicate different states, levels, etc.
Of course, this could also be accomplished with TABLEs, but using UL is a lot more concise and maintainable. The html would look like:
<ul style="list-style-image: url('MyArticle/blueball.gif')">

As I said, the same thing could also be accomplished by inserting images in TABLEs, so there are other ways to "abuse" posting images that cannot be prevented. The only thing that disallowing images in ULs does is to prevent legitimate use of images.
