Because both of these controls are for different requirements and one has advantage over the other e.g. you can't bind data to the CheckedListBox control for this you have to use either ComboBox or Listbox and also not support for Multi Selection whereas in ListBox Control you can't display a Checkbox besides every item.

Hello
I'm trying to communicate with an application written in C++ that receives windows messages. The problem is that i need to pass a pointer to a structure from VB.
In C++ the code to send a message looks like this (works fine)
BOOL bRC = false;
COPYDATASTRUCT cpd;
cpd.dwData = MESSAGE_1;
cpd.cbData = 0;
cpd.lpData = 0;
bRC = ::SendMessage(m_hServer, WM_COPYDATA, (WPARAM)NULL, (LPARAM)&cpd);
I've tried using marshaling this way in VB but doesn't work:
Dim bo As Boolean
Dim data As CopyData
data.dwData = MESSAGE_1
data.cbData = IntPtr.Zero
data.lpData = IntPtr.Zero
Dim ptr As IntPtr
ptr = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(Marshal.SizeOf(data))
Marshal.StructureToPtr(data, ptr, False)
bo= SendMessage(server, WM_COPYDATA, IntPtr.Zero, ptr)
Any ideas? thank you.

How can I make the system sleep for a while so that in the meanwhile my files get populated with some data and after that I can access the file for processing. Is there any way in vb.net or I have to call some API functions ?

Or you can use a different thread to do the population of the files.

Use the lines below in one of your Procedures, which then calls the PopulateFiles procedure on a new thread.
Dim thPopulateFiles As New System.Threading.Thread(AddressOf PopulateFiles)<br />
thPopulateFiles.Start()<br />
It can be tricky if you access the file before the new thread has finished executing - maybe look at Thread.Join as well.

I need status of network received/send bytes over lan and over internet!!!
Can anybody help me?
So i have 4 labels:
1.) in first one i want to see how much bytes i sent trough lan "to other pc-s in my network".
2.) in this one i want to see how much bytes i have received trough lan "from other pc-s in my network".
3.) Here i need to see how much bytes i sent to the internet "trough wan or i dont know how to get this".
4.) and here how much i received from internet...
If anybody can help me please...

Hi
I have a small app using the IO.Ports.SerialPort class. (VS2005 - Visual Basic)
Can anybody point me in the right direction to make this app MONITOR data transfer on a particular port in both directions, but not interfere it.
So basically if I have an application communicating with an external device on a particular serial port, I want to be able to log the data that the app sends to the device and the data the device sends back to the pc, but it must not interfere?

Why you are assigning a 'String' when it takes a Structure in this case an Item and create an object of the structure before assigning it a value.

'Dotfuscator' can make your assemblies difficult to reverse engineer. If you are using VS 2005 Professional Edition then its already installed under Visual Studio Tools menu I don't know about other versions of VS.

i want to change the database by just changing the database name.
while changing i am getting
Error: Can't Find msjter35.dll
but in my system32 the file is available.
please help me.

If the file is already exist in C:\Windows\System32 folder then it might be possible that the file has been corrupted.
You may need to register/replace the dll again.

Not sure why you convert Integer to string, and then back to string for the Textbox?
