But when the IP address of the Server is correct and sent along with the path where the page is located then why it is not displaying the correct page. How can i handle such a situation because I've to resolve each discovered URL and if the resolver failed to get the correct information then I've to issue the request with the unresolved address which not only consumes the bandwidth but also effects the performance of the crawler. Because there can be several web sites that respond to the same IP, and they differ only by the domain name.

As i told you earlier that I am working on a Distributed Web Crawler and a web crawler must use the Domain Name Service (DNS) to map the
web server’s host name into an IP address because if i have discovered say 50 urls from a site e.g. http://www.example.com/ then every request issued to each URL will require a DNS lookup to resolve that domain name which is an overhead a performance reduction or leak etc. what you say !!!

Well, there's not much that you can do. A domain name is not the same as an IP. Sometimes you can use the IP instead of the domain name, sometimes not, and only the server knows.
DNS services are usually cached, so a repeated DNS lookup will usually only go outside the local computer the first time. Have you actually determined that the DNS lookups is even a peformance problem?

Well, to get that to work you have to send the request differently. You can send the request directly to the IP, but it has to contain the "unresolved" URL.

Do you have a field named "vopenflg"?

You forgot to close the recordset before closing the connection. Why are you closing the connection at all?

Do you really have to change the mode? Have you set a different mode before opening the connection the first time? I don't think that I have ever seen anything used but the default mode for the connection. What database are you using?

You should do the update before you loop out the rows. Closing and reopening the recordset in the middle of the loop really messes up things.
You have to specify what record you want to update, otherwise you will be updating the record that happens to be first in the result.

Don't use the Request collection. Specify if the data comes from Request.Cookies, Request.ServerVariables, Request.Form or Request.QueryString.
As you have reopened the recordset, R("top_id") no longer contains the same id as you used in the select element above. You will be using the correct data for the update, but you are not updating the record that you think that you are.

It would be much easier to understand what you are trying to say if you would separate what you write into sentences.
Is there any problem with the code? What happens when you use it? Do you get any error message?
You are only closing the recordset and the connection inside the if statement where you update the record, so the first time the page is displayed it leaks a connection.

That doesn't make sense. The code doesn't do any redirect, and it doesn't show the updated value anywhere on the page so that you can see if it's updated or not.
If you did show the value, you would not see the change, as you display the values before the code that updates the values. You would have to update the page another time to see the change.

When you submit the form, it will be posted to the URL in the action argument in the form tag. As that URL doesn't have any querystring, the Request.QueryString collection will be empty, and the loop will run zero times. You have to add a value to the querystring of the URL, so that you can access it when the form is posted back to the page.
Looping throught the Request.QueryString collection is a bad way of handling querystring values. Just use the name of the value to read it:
vtopid = request.QueryString("SomeNameInTheQueryString")
The form tag goes inside the body tag, and you need a </form> tag to mark the end of the form.

I have added the script below to my website and if it is in test mode, it works fine - it writes the data to the screen. But when I take it out of test mode, it doesn't email me the data. I have pasted the script along with my code for the form. Can someone please tell me why it's not emailing? (Also, fyi, I do have a .txt file setup for the formatting of the email.) Thank you!
