hi guys i am trying to make a software which can takes in data from the bar code scanner.
i have no experiance is this watsoever.
so i am here to seek advice weather there is a global standard class or anything which is for bar code scanner?

No, not even remotely. Any piece of custom hardware will come with an SDK. Most barcode scanners can be set to pass text through to the PC, so if you focus on a textbox and scan, you get the code passed into the textbox.

What documentation generators do you use? I've been asked to research this so I thought I'd see what is popular. We need to document applications in both VS 2003 and 2005, both VB and C#. We do not currently have XML comments in the source code. In particular, my team lead is interested in documenting database actions, so whatever we choose, this would have to be a feature.
I've briefly looked at Doc-o-matic, Doxygen, Sandcastle, and NDoc. But, I'm just not familiar enough with what is available to even begin to compare these. I'm not familiar enough with .Net for that matter (I'm pretty much a newbie)! Is there anything else available? I think purchasing an application is acceptable, as long as it isn't too expensive. Which one has the most "bang-for-the-buck"? Which one is easiest to set up? Which ones can you recommend, and which ones should we stay away from?

We use SandCastle - There are GUIs you can download for it also.

Yup we generate all our API docs using Sandcastle, take a look - http://dunnchurchill.com/support/documentation/diamondbinding/Default.aspx[^]
Quite happy how they turn out with very little effort. (Although there seems to be a few bugs in Sandcastle that kill your help-project file. Make sure you keep it in version control!)

And just checking that I find that a recent security update has broken opening CHM files from an untrusted internet zone. FFS! Looks like you have to save CHM files to your hard disk, go into properties and hit unblock before they work properly.
This isnt a Sandcastle issue though - it seems to be Microsoft pulling some kneejerk security and breaking things. KB902225 has more details...

I am trying to embed a new vector art into a button that is already painted with another vector art.I want this new vector art to take a particular position inside the already existing art that right now paints the button.
I am creating a control template that paints the button based on property triggers & wants to present the new vector art inside the painted art at a specific location through a Content Presenter.Here is how it goes:

Hi all,
I've a bit of a strange issue with interop interoperability 
Let's say I have an interop, A which is built using KeyFile X and another interop B built using KeyFile Y. Interop A makes use of interop B but its source (i.e. A.DLL) does not expose the fact that it makes use of B.DLL in its public interface. As a consequence, there is no need to use the /reference flag in the tlbimp command when building the A interop.
Here's the problem: I am getting a FileNotFoundException when trying to do something via the A interop because it is trying to look for a B interop (which it needs) which has the same PublicKeyToken as it.
What recourse do I have around this problem?

If I know the url to a file, is it possible to use FileInfo to get info about the file? instead of using http://, would I use file://?

I bet you will. You do know that we don't do homework for you don't you? You need to use C# or VB.NET with XAML. Have a look around this site at articles from Sacha Barber and Josh Smith to get a headstart on them.

hi friends,
i have posted a thread previously on this topic and that error was "Access is Denied."
now i am able to solve that "Access is Denied" error and also i manage to run the indesign from asp.net but what happens that after some days it giving me error that "System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Server Execution Failed."
i am using the same code as i posted in the previous thread and the statement where i am getting the error is same....
but the error is different i tried to solve this problem but can't find the solution.
if any of you know the solution please reply to this post.

Hi,
I've developed a MDI application using .NET and i need to show the active windows which have been opened in my application under a menu item named 'Active Windows'. Am new to this technology and i have no idea how to do this. Is there any windows form control to do this?

Add a menustrip item called mymenustrip to the form. Then add an item with text 'Active Windows' and call it myitem. Then use this piece of code so that this item displays active windows: mymenustrip.MdiWindowListItem = this.myitem

I need to make an application in C# that doesn't use the .NET framework, since the client is a local high school and installing that is apparently a no-no. Is there a way I can do this?
I'm sort of new to this thing, my last main attempt at learning Visual Studio programming was VB6. So, was also wondering at what point the application requires an install, instead of just being able to be run. That would be ideal.

Stop right there. It can't be done. C# doesn't exist without the .NET Framework.
Your only option, using VS2008, is an unmanaged C++ app.
Or you could go back to using VB6.

I got a master page with some contentTemplateHolders in one of them I load the main screens (user controls) depending on the menu selected, localization works fine for theses ones, you can see the correct language depending on the user who logged in.
But then for my master page it doesn't work, and I followed the same steps than for the other user controls, just creating resource file, and adding the culture code to name of that file, for others contentTemplateHolders which are in the master page localizatin doesn't work either.
The only difference between those templateHolders is that in one of them i load the page dinamically, but the others are always in the master page, all of them are user controls. As well for the controls which are added directly to the master localization doen't work.
I change the culture in mainForm in the method Page_Init, this comes from a class user, where we hold all the data realted to the user like culture, and actually hits the method and changes correctly the culture..
Can anyone tell me how to do the localization with a master page? Any idea why it works with some user controls (the one loaded automatically) and not for others?
Any help will be more than appreciated.
