If you are using SQL 2005, open management studio and do a backup. On the backup screen, you have a option to generate backup script. Generate it, copy that to SQlCommand 's command text property, and execute it from your code. This will backup the DB

Hello,
When it comes to Inserting data from Gridview, then this control has little to offer. Here is a very good link on how you can accomplish that:

Do let me know if this works for you or not.

Yes you can use it. When refering you need to give path to the usercontrol. When a new project is created, If you are using ASP.NET 1.1, when a new project is created, it automatically creates a virtual directory. You need to remove this for one project to access something from that project.

Then instead of creating two projects, keep the user controls in a separate folder. Access it from there. Keep only one project

dear ,
nothing creates a problem, whats going on wid u is that,
you are using 2 projects and both have different name space. so one can able to find but other cant due to name space prob.
what u have to do is, create one common directory and place both projecrts in that.
now create on directory inside the this common folder and place ur user control in that.
now using that namespace u can now able to acces the control.
Hope this wil help u.

Hey..
I have tried for hours, even days.. But I really cannot find out overriding the membership class the way i want to.
First of all I want to override the CreateUser method, so i can add some additional fields to the CreateUser Wizard.
Let's just say i want these fields:
- Username
- Password
- E-mail address
- Phone Number
- Postal Code
- City
- Address
- MembershipID
I want these fields in my Wizard. At step1 I Just want Username and password and then in step 2 I want the last fields.
When I create the user I have to check if the username or E-mail address already exist in the database.
And I want these information to be added to my own database and not the ASPNET.msd or whatever it is named by MS as standard.
Can anyone explain to me, every little step that I must take, to create this?
I have tried to look at some MSDN examples, but I can't really figure out how to solve my problem.
Sorry if my english is bad, I am from Denmark, and it has been a while since I last wrote anything in english

This article[^] should help you with your problems.
You can change the membership database by running the aspnet_regsql.exe utility from the Visual Studio command prompt.
Part 6 of the article explains how to add custom properties to user profiles.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer
Isn't there another method to change database?
I am using a webhost, so i don't have access to .exe files
|
|
|
|
|
Not as far as I know. If you don't want to use the standard ASPNETDB.mdf database that resides in the App_Data to store membership info, I believe this tool is your only option.

Hi yaa u replied yesterday.. thnx!
i need any architecture idea how i can do that auditing.
with triggers i'm not able to get user sessions, username to store events associated with them. I want to use triggers but was looking for some idea tht would simply auditing...

If you don't use triggers, then you have to use seperate procs that you call. If the procs you're calling now take the userId, then you can use triggers, and get the user Id from the call that was made.
