using stored procedures how to retrive the collection of table values and how i can assign these values to a particular dataset

IF you are using SQL server, use SQLCommand and SQLDataAdapter class. Use Fill() method in SQLDataAdapter to fill the value to a DataSet/DataTable. You need to set CommandType to StoredProcedure also.

Writing SELECT * FROM Table will return all the rows in that table when the procedure is being executed.

I am not getting what do you mean by hold these values in SP. Do you want to do some calculations with the returned value ?

no sir actually my requirement is i want to get the employees of a particular table when a dept no is given .these employes i should get the data set table .so i can write an sp to retrive that much values from sp into a data set.

Can I freeze first column in a ASP.NET gridview web control? I've 20 columns, first 2 columns should be frozen.It should be like Excel. Also to freeze gridview header as well. It should apply to all browsers.

It use javascript. You can try that, I don't think any ready-made code available.

1) In old days, we used to use CSS expression to make the fixed column header. but the CSS expression doesn't work in the non-IE browsers so we stop using this trick.. However, if your website is for IE users then you can still use the CSS expression which is really easy to use.
2) You can use the pure CSS to get the fixed column header.. For example : Pure CSS Scrollable Table with Fixed Header[^] but as you want to use this in Gridview, there is one problem that we can't set the CSS class to tbody of GridView. So, I used the CSS friendly adapter[^] to customize the gridview (without creating new gridview that inherit from standard gridview)
You can check my example here[^].
3) If you don't like this example, you can find another example with ASP.NET ajax. (or something.) I'm sure that there is an example with ASP.NET because i saw once in my feed reader.. I will find this example if i'm free and will let u know..

And when i did using the static properties it was rocking using instance properties it is not........................

Not necessary. The problem is you are trying to assign the property value inside the class, not inside any methods. This is not allowed.

Are you saying that Class A doesn't need to have the constructor? assigning the value is the second pro..

If there is no constructor then we can't create the object of class A. A objA = new A();. I know there are a lot of ways to do.. but based on my example 1, I did create the object of A. but i missed to mention to have the constructor in class A and B.

This is not correct. You can have a class without constructor. It is optional. Try creating a class without any constructor ? It won't show any problem. I guess internally default constructor would be created automatically. If we don't want to do any initialization stuff, we can avoid writing constructor.

Yeah. You are correct. This is the second time that I made the mistake.  Sorry about that.. I didn't know that the default constructor is not a must. I always used to add the default constructor.. Thanks for correcting me..
