I miss the old site navigation...
In the new site I select from the menu bar C#, then go into chapters Internet. Result?
C++ code....
I want C# only...

Hi All,
Not sure where you are in the tweaking process, but I've noticed articles with lots of grahics show some graphics, but not others. Right clicking, and selecting 'Show Image' brings them up immediately.
I've seen this before in IIS. Concurrent connections are set too low. So when (concurrently) requesting 10 different images, the server will drop a certain number to enforce the constraint.

Hi Jeff, in another thread I read Chris & Co temporarily reduced some timeout values
to lessen the remaining performance problems. It seems if you want to publish lots of
pictures, you will have to write more articles now.

When I looked at the preview for a post with this button checked, I noticed the following issues:
1. Escape sequences like & were being resolved in the preview, but NOT resolved in the post
2. I had a tag (<pre>) in the message, which was AUTOMATICALLY closed at the end of the preview AND in the actual post (completely incorrect)
3. The signiture appeared as an HTML-like string, which looked really crappy in the preview. Again, this was correct in the actual post
Issues 1 & 3 were wrong in the preview, but correct when actually posted. Perhaps after you guys work out the big issues, you could knock out this minor inconvenience as well. (At which time I also suggest you do smiley parsing FIRST, then parse the HTML, so I can do things like &#58;0 without getting a smiley!) Thanks,

Hi Chris,
Once the site is stabilized and the final wrinkles are worked out, CP might consider adding a META tag or comment with the server name serving up content.
This would aide in tracking down issues which are based on per server configurations and local stale data. For example, I could offer, "Server XYZ seems to have stale article images for ...". With me viewing the source, CP staff does not have to grep servers looking for the specific issue.

Intermittent Failures
Form submits (search, member list) occasionally return an empty page. Sometimes, another submit helps - sometimes, not.
Is the advanced search from the beta site gone (selecting categories etc.)? or do I remember something that was not there?
I DO like the "googly" features: quotes and logical expressions.
Could the article list get a "Next" button on the bottom? It's the one thing I want to do when I scrolled down - and it took me a while to figure out I had more than one result page (granted, I'm a bit cranky now, but still..)

We're still battling with some weird load issues so have set timeouts low to avoid log jams on the database.
Advanced search will come back - this is actually the main cause of the bottlenecks

Is this code page still available?

Hi,
most articles should be accessible by replacing .asp by .aspx
it may lead you through an intermediate page that seems to make a pretty good guess
as to where the actual article is.
If only CodeProject would do this automatically, so all existing links (our Favorites,
Google, ...) would have a fighting chance.

We've moved all articles up by one directory ("KB") and reorganised the taxonomy so this won't actually work.
There is a fairly complex system in place that remaps every page of the old site to the new site seamlessly (including querystrings) but, due to a single missing "'", it was all broken.
All fixed.

Hi Chris,
I am getting newsletters by e-mail, but no e-mail notifications (when reply is posted)
nor direct mails (from mail button). Anything I should do (except wait)?
BTW: the dates and times displayed for messages are still way off (about 18h ahead).
It's rather confusing.

About the times... is the time our local time? or the server's local time?
Because the delay can be due to different time-zones. I had not the right time (for me) in the old version as well

it used to look like US EastCoast Time, i.e. lagging some 6 hours behind my local time.
now it seems to be 18 hours ahead, there is no place on earth with that local time!

Love the new look and feel. However, were is the prev link at the bottom next to the page numbers? If you're not gonna show it, you need to take out the next.

if you want to go to the previous page, using the bottom of the page... just click in the page number with the value N-1 (where N is the actual page).
