I set up app on IIS 7 on vista 64 bit.
all work fine, I can get into data base see table button and all things...
but when I put Img control I can see him on VS but when he on the IIS
I cant go or see him... when the page go up I see X .
i try all securty...
what can I do...????

I thank all of my friends who helped me to resolve erlier issues...
Today I have following problem. I have two separate scearios one is without master page and another with master page
In first scenario without masterpage I have follwoing code in default.aspx file
script block in

And in code behind

This one works perfect, I mean to say Javascript block works perfect and I can get a value in txtVal variable of Page_Load event
Now in second scenario where I am using MasterPage(TestMaster.master) which has following code.
<asp:contentplaceholder id="MainContent" runat="server">
And I have code in <asp:content> in default.aspx as below
]]>
<asp:content id="Content1" contentplaceholderid="MainContent" runat="Server">
--Same javascript block as above
--Same <asp:dropdownlist> and <asp:textbox> as above
And same page load event as above of default.aspx
So in this case none of the code is working correctly neither JAvascript code(null object javascript error is coming) nor page_load event(object reference not set to instance of an object erro) is working fine

Try Page.Master.FindControl() as the control is in Master page.

When you use Master/Content pages, ASP.NET adds the place holder id with the control id. So when you page is rendered, id of DropDownList1 might be something else. You need to write it like this
document.getElementById(<%=DropDownList1.ClientId %> ).value

Hi;
The same problem arised to me last week. But none answered me properly. U can check it out in the name 'RAAM'. I tried it on my own n finded the solution. The solution is, U write the java script coding in the Masterpage.Master. Then in ur content page, with the script = "javascript" use src = "Masterpage.Master". In ur button event or something in the content page call the java script function. it works properly.

Can anybody help me to use xquery in my application . For that what namespace should i import?
I found the component Microsoft.Xml.XQuery.dll and i have added as reference also. But also i can feel that something else is required to work xquery. Also the functions of xquery ( Ex : Doc() ) is not present in my instantiation. Where am i wrong ?
Is there any other way to use xqyery in my asp.net application with Xml as database Or with both xml and sql as database.

Hi guys
My problem is this . I need to generate a large number of records from SQL server 2000 to and excel spreadsheet. However the durations of time id too long. For about 900 records there's about 50 min.
Any idea or guide to boast up the speed?

Are you using the Excel COM object (will be slower) or HTML to Excel method to generate the Excel file?

It depends on the business logic used to generate the excel.
SQL Server 2005 has the ability to export to excel directly using OPENROWSET (INSERT INTO OPENROWSET) methodology. Check whether SQL Server 2000 also has that command.

What do you mean by "unloading" a page?

For each request, Page will be implicitly Unloaded Once the HTML Contents is rendered to the client. So you don't have to explicitly do that.

Use a more meaningful subject line next time. In your database, create a user table that holds all the information you want to gather about the individual user.

Are you serious about creating a separate database for each user? For any other purpose than making it hard to access the data, that's pretty useless.

There is no point of making database for each user. You should know a database can hold millions of table and records. So, there is no need to create database for each and every user. Rather use single database structure with primary and foreign key concept.
I have a simple advice to you. Make a table name "Users" with (User id as Primary key) and all the necessery information should be stored in another table which hold foreign key reference to User id field of User table. And all the table should be stored in the single database.

We're trying to set the appearance of an asp:CreateUserWizard control to have a custom background image but without success.
We tried to work with this object's style->background property but the images cannot be seen.
Does anybody have a clue?

I have a table with a varchar field that uses the default character set latin1. In that field most values are in ascii but a few are not. Whenever I retrieve those values that contain non-ascii characters and try to display them on a webpage they show as garbage. I tried many things, like using charset=latin1 in the connection string, but nothing worked. Even tried to save the values to a text file and got the same results (using File.CreateText() and StreamWriter.Write(), which use UTF-8)
Environment info:
ASP.NET 2.0
MySQL 5.0.41 community
MySQL Connector/Net 5.1
response and request encoding set to utf-8 (default) in web.config
Any suggestions are very much appreciated ...

Here is a simple procedure that dynamically builds a Javascript Alert Message and writes it to the client using Response.Write. you can use this procedure by adding it to the code-Behind. This would be useful when you do a server-side validation and want to prompt a alert message to the user.
