Hi
You can go for Visual Studio 2005 For Build Asp.Net Application.
Asp.Net Is platform on which you can Code with VB or C# or with any language which .net framework supports.
And For Database U can Use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express.
Now inserting data in asp.net : It is not possible to insert data in asp.net
U can enter data in Database That is MS SQL Server.

Hi all;
I am developing a commercial website. (mid-scaled : 1000 concurrent users).. Employer wants our users to be able to login via entry page with ssl. However If I put my main page in ssl state, then load times will greatly suffer due to ssl's overhead.
Anyway I found a solution by posting (crosspostback) the form's input to a seperate aspx which is protected via ssl. All login process happens in this new ssl page and it redirects user to appropriate page after succesful login.
Here the problem starts : After a while this mechanism stops working. It sometimes take 10 days, sometimes 10 minutes. After I restart iis it starts working again. why would such a problem occur?
Note: You can also cookie login to my site if you have previously checked "Remember me" option and set a cookie. cookie login takes place during the page_load event of the main aspx. Whenever regular login stops working, cookie login keeps working without any problem. differently speaking, rest site functions works properly. Only login mechanism stops working due to crosspostback failure. What may cause it? Any ideas?
Futher note; my framework is .net 20, c#, nhibernate 1.2.1, forms authentication.
For those who will help me or pay attention, I really appreciate in advance

Use Parameterized queries. Your insert query would be
INSERT INTO MyTable(MyColumn1,MyColumn1) VALUES(@MyFirstParam,@MySecondParam) . You need to supply these parameters in your command object like
MyCommand.Parameters.Add(@MyFirstParam,value);
MyCommand.Parameters.Add(@MySecondParam,value);

Does anyone know an easy way to consolidate mutilple stylesheets into one global sheet that contains all common style settings and a number of specific sheets that can then be applied to the relevant pages.
My situation is that we had an external designer provide templates that differ only in colour for branding various sections of the site.
The problem is that they have written large CSS's that have many common elements and a few specific settings that either point at a small graphic file or have a couple of colour settings different. (There are about 700 lines per sheet).
I would like to convert these to something like
Global.css
Red.css
Green.css
Yellow.css
...
and just apply the global.css and red.css to the red pages, Global.css and Green.css to the green pages, etc.
I have done a google search and CP search and can't find any thing that looks like it will help.

Hi to all,
I created wrapper for the activex control created in vb
by aximp
i run aximp socx.ocx
socx is the name of my active x control.
Then i got two dll AXSOCXLIb and SOCXLib
i added to my .net 2003 reference folder then
i create object
Public X1 As New SOCXLib.SOCXClass
and pass all parameter to one of the method that is

i got all the parameter but on last statment
when he call SCTMakeCall method i got
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Catastrophic failure
This is very urgent

Hello everyone,
I have successfully made a Jar executable file from a Java program, by changing the manifest. But for some reason, it executes perfect on my computer, but will not run on any other computer. It says "can;t find main class". I run JRE 6 and my friends run the jre 5. could that be it? any help is very appricated.

I am working on my final Msc dissertation project, and in this project I have to impliment Disscussion Board ,
but I don't know what techniques normaly used to store "Dissussion Messages" at backend. whether database is used to store these or any other techniques?
If database is used to store these messages then what techniques is used for database to reduce memory storage.

Hi,
I made a little code, similar to original framework code: it can put attributes from XML "layout config files" into controls, created by LoadControl(type, object[]). This works fine with my Custom Controls.
(Is this a hack? What's the correct method to create "theme blocks" based on user editable XML file configuration?)
Problem:
When I load User Control based controls, using LoadControl(string+".ascx"), trying to reflect properties of this Control - the same way which works for Custom Controls - I cannot see any properties. Why?

Hi,
I am using Microsoft AJAX autocomplete to lookup some product from database. I am wondering if it's possible to access onSelected event of the dropdownlist. Actually, what I want to do is only display product name in dropdownlist, and keep product ID in value field of the dropdownlist. When a user select an item from the dropdownlist, I will retrieve the product ID from the dropdown control for futher action. But since the webservice only return one string and that string is populated into dropdownlist automatically. I couldn't find how to set the text and value for dropdownlist using diffrerent values....
Did anyone have idea how to achieve it?
Any help would be really appreciated!

Hi,
The AutoCompleteExtender control was not really designed to be used with a DropDownList, as it can only return a string array to the client. If using a TextBox, as oppossed to a DropDownList, is not a viable option for you then you may need to look at writing a custom control that extends the functionality of the AutoCompleteExtender to return name/value pairs.

We have a web application that is required to use HTTP post and get to pass data back and forth. Under IIS 6 everything works fine. The client receives the response (usually two packets) and everything runs as expected.
We moved the application to Visual Studio 2008, IIS 7, and converted our handlers to be properly recognized (not compatibility mode).
We still have all of our longer running transactions function normally. However our logoff transaction failed. I ran netstat and saw that with the login transaction that there was a port opened in a CLOSE_WAIT state. The GetResponse method works as expected. The logoff however shows no such port state and when the client goes to read the response it crashes because there is a stream object that goes nowhere. (no port in CLOSE_WAIT state or any other state)
I then went to the server side and stepped through our logic to issue the response to the client. In each case I get the status after the respond and it shows 200 OK as the response. Meaning the the transaction was a success and the response was a success. The last thing I do is flush the buffer. The only difference with the logout is that it is probably only 1 packet while even login is at least 2. If I pause the server right after the flush, the client takes off and successfully get the response object. If I do not pause it, the client crashes and no port is sitting in the CLOSE_WAIT state. We really need to get this fixed ASAP. Do I put a thread wait after the flush???? Will that stop the entire web server???? What do I do to get this working?

Microsoft suggested first that we try context.Response.Close(); and see if that works.
I think it does the same thing but derived from the context object.

Hi,
If you are using ASP.Net then the RequiredFieldValidator control will provide you with a means to validate the input field on postback, and this will handle both client and server-side validation.
If you are not using .Net then I suggest you perform validation on the client-side using JavaScript, by attaching a validation function to the submit button's onclick event e.g.:

And also server-side by validationg the contents of the textbox.
