debugging native c++

I have a c# project and native c++ dll(with code) the dll is attached to c# code is there any way in which i can put a break point in c++ code and track down.i Use visual studio 2005

Yes, Visual Studio supports both C# projects and C++ projects inside a single solution. Add both projects to a solution in VS, you should be able to set a breakpoint in your C++ code.

I am doing some image processing stuff with the help of Christian Graus articles available here. But he has performed all the image processing stuff directly on the form. Whereas i want to use picture box. And i have tried several ways but its not working.
Can any one help me out with any example of his Image Processing application over the picture box.

I don't think a PictureBox is a very useful Control, it gives more trouble than
it is worth.

I'd rather load and paint my Image myself, painting it either onto the Form or a simple
Panel. In both cases all painting must be handled by the Paint handler.

Whatever you do, for image processing, the first step is to perform the processing,
the second is to redraw it, either by telling the PictureBox to reload its Image (I guess
by reassigning its Image property), or the Form/Panel to redraw itself (by issuing an
Invalidate).

MDI parent and children

Ok, I know there are some articles and I've looked at this. This is my question though. I have a form that is a container. Lets call that form Main. Ok I have two more forms ContactList and EditContactList.

Now to open ContactList this is the code:

Form f = new ContactList();
f.MdiParent = this;
f.Show();

Now ContactList has a menu bar that is suppose to open EditContactList. So how do I make it where ContactList opens EditContactList, but the parent for EditContactList is form Main? The articles always use f.MdiParent = this;

f.MdiParent = Main(); does not work.. so if you could help me out, I would appreciate it!

Yeah. The 'this' isn't strictly necccesary but it makes the code a little clearer.

Hi guys!

having a bit of a problem.. im picking upp value from file rowes, and i live in sweden so we use the characters å,ä,ö a lot.
so i want to replace the å ä ö with something else, because when i return the row in a listview the ö are like ? or something like that... =(

i have tryade to save in diffirent encoding.. nothing works! anyone with the same problem as me??
i pick upp info from rowes like this:
String row5 = File.ReadAllLines(file)[row];
string[] tecken = row5.Split(';');
string person = tecken[21];

anyone with good suggestions??

UTF-8 should support Swedish characters. Are they not storing in your file correctly, or is it the listView not displaying them correctly?

i think its the listview hwo doesn´t display them correclty. beacouse i have tryade every encoding..
are i changing the ecoding throught advanced save options????

Are you specifying the encoding to use when reading your file as I think that's where your problem is?

System.Text.Encoding swedishEncoding;
swedishEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8;
//Or if that doesn't work;
swedishEncoding = System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding(437);

//To read

Hi,

I have some Problems with Serialization:

I have a class B that is inside a class A:

public class A
{
    [Serializable]
    public class B
    {
        public int Number;
    }
}

When I try to serialize/deserialize it with the XML Serializer it does not work.

Is it possible to serialize a class that is inside a class (so I have to search the bug elsewhere) or is it impossible (so I have to change the structure of the classes)?

OK, found the Problem:

My class contains an IPAddress that can not be serialized by the XML Serializer because there is no default constructor. I only looked if the Attribute Serializable is set...

I tested and saw that with a simple class like the onein my example there is no problem with serializing a class inside a class...
