Store the node object that is being replied to, and add the new reply as a child to that node.

hai all,
i am using .net 2005.i do my project in vb.net windows application.The lot of billnos are saved in sql server 2000 database.
for ex,
billno 1,2,3,4 are saved in sql server 2000 database.
i want to display billnos like 1,2,3,4 from SQL 2000 server database in horizontally in section2(Page Header) or section3(Details) of crystalreports for visual studio.net.
In my project output,
if i keep billno field in section2(Page Header) means,in output, only one billno '1' is coming,billno 2,3,4 is not coming.
like that if i keep billno in section3(Details)means,in output,billno 1,2,3,4 is coming in vertical.but i want to display in horizontal.
so,i want to display billnos 1,2,3,4 from SQL 2000 server database in horizontally in section2(Page Header) or section3(Details) of crystalreports for visual studio.net.
how to do this?.

Why are you displaying only the "billno" field in the report? Would you not need to display other details too?
Fields placed in the PageHeader will appear once every page - so if your database contains 4 bills, the report will contain 4 pages, with each page header containing one of the billno fields.
You cannot directly display multiple billno fields horizontally. In any case, what if there are thousands of records in the table? You will need to look into creating a temporary table with as many fields as you want to display horizontally in your report.

hi,
first choose section Expert which show all the section of your Report on left hand side and related option on right hand side.
Now choose Details section and check the Checkbox with name "Format with multiple column". when you check this option, one extra tab(name "Layout") is added in panel located at Top-right corner.
click on layout tab and set Detailsize ,Gap between Details and printing direction related field
after appropriate setting ,click on ok button.This action Change the width of details section.Now place the bill number related field in detail section and run the report

You can use dataset to print the data from Exe to Print.
it's no needful for connection by database.

Hello, I was wondering if u can help me out with this one....
I have a datagridview with 5 columns, the first one is a Combobox Column... I've managed to fill it up with a datasource...know what I'll like to know is how to fill the remaining 4 cells of the row, based in the code i've selected in the first one...
I've been searching a lot and i've found some examples of how to capture the event of the combobox...

You might want to take a look at the grids CurrentCellDirtyStateChanged and CellValueChanged events. The CurrentCellDirtyStateChanged event triggers as soon as any change is made in a cell, although the actual new value of the cell is not "known" in that event. The CellValueChanged event triggers as soon as the user exits a modified cell, and the changed value of the cell is known in that event. I've done some crazy stuff in the past where I've programitically moved off a cell when the CurrentCellDirtyStateChanged event triggers, captured its new value via the CellValueChanged event, and then programtically returned to the cell. You can get the new value of the cell in the CellValueChanged event with code similar to the following:
NewValue = dataGridView1.CurrentRow.Cells(e.ColumnIndex).Value.ToString()

I am working on excel 2007 add ins using vb.net 2005. and i want to set the two different print area in my work sheet. and i want to print these area in single page. how i do this.
I am success in set the two different print area using following code.
myWorkSheet.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$A$1:$B$10,$D$1:$E$10"
myWorkSheet.PrintPreview()
It set the two different print area but when it shows print preview it shows two different pages.but i want to print these are in single page.

I would like to konw what type of value will be return when using format(now(),"hh:mm:ss") in vb6?

Format always return the string type value.
format(now(),"hh:mm:ss")
This function returns the current time in the "hh:mm:ss" Format. but data type is String.

Hello all,I'm facing problem with applying the MySql.Data.dll file in Reference of my VS 2003. When I try to add in,I saw a prompup and show this Error Message:
A reference to' C:\Documents and Setting\Visual Studio Projects\Test\MySql.Data.dll' could not be added. This is not a valid assembly or COM component. Only assemblies with extention 'dll' and COM components can be referenced. Please make sure that the file is accessible, and that it is a valid assembly or COM component.
Anyone could guide me how to solve this problem?

Thanks everyone for reading,I found the problem and solution for my post here. Just to share with someone who need it in the future,the following are what I found:

VS .NET 2003 doesn't support MySql 5.0/5.1 .NET Connector. The only connector supported is 1.0 .NET Connector which is the most earliest version of tools build by MySql to linkup with VS.NET 2003.

 I am writing a simple program in VB.net to use netsend to be able to send a message to all the users on the domain when I need to restart the server or other things like that. I have already turned windows messaging on on all of the computers, however, I can not figure out how to send the message on a button click in my program. It is a very simple windows form program with two text boxes called "CompOrDomainName" and "Message" and three buttons, "Send", "ClsButton", and "ClrAll". I have programed "ClsButton" and "ClrAll" to function the way I want, however I cannot figure out how to get "Send" to send through net send. Any help would be great. I have included the code so people can help me figure out what code I still need to be able to end.

What the code is doing is opening a command prompt and issuing the net send command to it. This article[^] may provide further insight.
