Its the exported function name.

Blatantly copied from MSDN:
"You can specify the entry-point name by supplying a string indicating the name of the DLL containing the entry point, or you can identify the entry point by its ordinal. Ordinals are prefixed with the # sign, for example, #1. If you omit this field, the common language runtime uses the name of the.NET method marked with the DllImportAttribute."

Well I want to build a front end in C#,I am an average C# programmer, for DDCT RFID reader "RDF2711". I have the DLL. But I have no Idea about that Entry Point.

You only really use that if you want to give your extern function declaration a different name.

Hi,
I have created a webservice and on the client side i want to access it using Httprequest and httpresponse classes.
There are two methods in that webservice.1 method returns a string.the 2nd method requires two integers as input parameters.how do i pass these parameters in the request from the client.
call to Merthod1 from client:

HttpWebRequest myreq = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://localhost:2054/my_ws/MY_WebService.asmx/HelloWorld");
            myreq.Method = "POST";
            myreq.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";

call to method2 from client:

HttpWebRequest myreq = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://localhost:2054/my_ws/MY_WebService.asmx/Add");
            myreq.Method = "POST";
            myreq.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";

server side for method2:

[WebMethod]
public int Add(int a, int b) {
    return (a + b);
}

A REST webservice and a MS web service is 2 different things.

Look in writing you own IHttpHandler instead.

Hi Everybody,

I have a problem (for me than Smile | :)

that i do not now how to do the following.

I have a usercontrol with on it a listview control. This usercontrol is placed on a standard winform. Now i want on the form react on a event of the listview control. In other words. I the listview is clicked i want to catch the event en do something with the selected record.

I can set the on click event in the usercontrol but that will not show up in my form. I have tried something with override on click events but cannot get the hang of it.

Any examples, suggestions.

Why would you react in your Form? Handle the Events in your Usercontrol.

I can set the on click event in the usercontrol but that will not show up in my form. I have tried something with override on click events but cannot get the hang of it.

The event will be fired, if the usercontrol itself is clicked for example. If you want to catch the event on the listview, you have to publish an event for that in your usercontrol and forward the onclick event of your ListView. For Example:
MyUserControl.OnListViewClicked += new someeventhandler(handler)

i actually do that for my company...

the fingerprint scanners we use are manufactured by ZK, and its an "offline" device, which means the person "clocks" but the time stamp is kept on the device until a computer "polls" all the time stamps, saves them, then deletes them off the device.

to do all this i use the manufacturers SDK & dotNet wrapper.

are you trying to get data off an "offline" device, or one of those small usb finger print scanners?
