It swallows all my pretty formatted C# code 
Why cant I format my own code like the following?

This would just be considered an annoyance. The CodeProject has a custom formatter that removes all previous formatting on code and adds its own formatting based on the language chosen. Their is a warning in the article wizard that advises people of this. This is only in place to have consistent formatting throughout the entire site and to avoid over/under formatting and also to avoid abuse.

I meant on CP.
I've been frustrated by the submission template saying "Please use simple formatting (<h2>, <p> etc)" and then when I used the simple formatting of a list (OL or UL) my submission was rejected. I mean, come on, if I can type it in Notepad (which I do), it must be simple!

When you reply to a post that has lots of other posts between it and your reply it’s hard to put it in context. The parent post may not even be on the same page and all you’ve got to go by to match it to its parent is the level of indentation. This has been a thorn in my side for some time. I can think of two obvious ways around this (although others may have better ideas):
- A button which takes you to a post’s parent.
- A button which picks out a “thread” based on a post. A "thread" in this context consists of the post on which you click the button, its parent, its parent’s parent, and so on back to the root post.
I’d prefer the second option.

Do this[^] Google search. It searches for "VanillaConsole", which is the name of the skeleton console application I use when I post on the forums. Clicking on the links doesn't bring you to the correct posts. If you click on the "cached" link it works however.
On a side note, when I use the cached link I get the same problem I get in IE (missing buttons and such) in Firefox.

This I believe is not the CodeProject's fault. Google only displays what the bot picked up the last time it viewed the site. I am guessing that the bot checked the site before it was updated (many times).

Google sees the page expanded. VanillaConsole is still on the page that the link takes you to, but only appears if you expand that message. Why Google is showing that particular link for that particular message is something you'd have to ask them.
Maybe we should just expand the message view by default.

I found the problem and it was my faulty (oops). A while ago I made IE report the user agent as GoogleBot and then promptly forgot I’d done it. Sorry for wasting your time.

I was interested in entering the "The Code Project Random Programming Competition, Summer 2008" but, I must admit, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the prizes. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to sound petty, but I think something like a book voucher would be a better choice.

If I am correct, most of the prizes are donated that are given away. As far as the competition, as Chris said, it is meant to be fun. I personally hate Star Trek or any other TV series that has star in the name for that matter. However, I will be entering this competition after my game is complete because I feel it is a fun challenge.
