I'm creating a product order form for multiple stores. Each stores order is stored in a database by their StoreId with the ItemId and amount they need to order. The administrator needs to be able to view all of the stores orders on a single page. I would like to display each stores order in a datagrid but don't know how many stores have placed orders. So I have 2 questions: 1. Is this the best approach? 2. How do I create datagrids for each store thats in the database?

You can also create a dropdown or some kind of selection list, and display the selected store's orders. This way you will make it even easier for yourself, because you can also display this page for each store, only then limit the amount of selectable stores. You can then also allow more stores with the same 'owner' but having different locations to select more than one store.

You need an active X control to be iterating over files in a folder and uploading them. ASP.NET can only generate HTML, which only has a control for a single file.

but the ContentPlaceHolder not applied stylesheet?

Is your masterpage in a different folder? You cannot apply a css on a ContentPlaceHolder, if your masterpage refers to a stylesheet, all pages derived from that masterpage also use that stylesheet. However the path may be different from the masterpage and the webpage.
In your master page, open the source in HTML View, and change the path to the css so that is starts with a ~ and than the exact website path from the root of your website, for example
~/css/website.css

Hello All,
I'm truly hoping that someone here can provide me an answer to this one. I have a CompositeControl created in Visual Web Developer 2008, to which I want to add Design-Time support for a DateTime property. Currently, the property shows up in the Properties editor for the control as just a text field. What I would prefer is to have it editable in the designer via a DateTimePicker (similar to the date fields in the properties for the Calendar control). This is what I have thus far:

I am using the AJAX tab control and have two tab pages. The problem is that when I am on the 2nd tab page, and want to remain there, after a postback I am returned to the first tab page. Now, in the control that is causing the postback I have a hooked event that when fired manually sets the tab index back to the second tab page (TabContainer.TabIndex = 1). This does not work. Has anyone run into the same problem and come up with a fix?

I have built a report and would like the Date and Time to appear in the report by default whenever the report is ran.
Is there somewhere in the .rdlc or somewhere else that you can add something that causes this to happen?

i am creating a appraisal form and i need to right a client side code that will auto-update on the client side to reflect changes before saving it to the database, i know it can be done using javascript.
here my fields
kra_value
agreed_target_dist
weighted_target
rating
kra_score
weighted_target = kra_value * agreed_target_dist
kra_score = weighted_target * rating
the two fields being calculated should be read-only and values should be reflected before being saved to the database.
Any help as soon as possible will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

What you need to do is have some event handler. The auto-updating will be fired by some event (click of button, entry into text field, getting or losing focus...)
then in the event handler calculate what you need and update the page accoringly.

hi all
i have a gridview which shows the list of all users in my site. I have added view to each row. I have added a link button for this.
On clicking this view i want to show a popup which shows the details of each user. i dont want to open a new window for this. I want to show this using a div popup.
i have written javascript to make a div visible and invisible. But to fill the details in this div i need to run server side script. How can i do this without refreshing the grid.
grid is placed inside a update panel

Hey all,
Am trying to use the global.asax file to handle any unhandled exceptions.
I want it to do 2 things, log the error to a text file from a class and redirect the user to an error page.
I'm sure I've done it before, but can't find my old code. This is what I'm using now:

The event fires, but when I call my class it ignores that and the redirect and shows the original error on the page. If I take out the class call it does redirect, but I want a log of what happened. (the class writes the error to a text file using a streamwriter).
Anyone have an inkling as to why this isn't working?
The global files being generated by VS2005 for .net 2.0 if that helps

You could try to clear the error after you handle it in your ErrorLogger, like so:

Thanks for the reply, it didn't help, but I did find the cause.
My dev environment wasn't debugging properly, it couldn't find the error log file so was skipping the rest of the steps in the Application_Error.

Hello everyone.
I have an asp.net page with a gridview control bound to an access data source. The data source has session parameters for the select statement. I provided a "Next" button so the user can proceed to another section of the web application and fill out another section of whatever form they are filling out.
The way I set it up is I have only 1 page. The "Next" button changes the session variables which obviously causes the datasource to select different data,i.e. After clicking "Next", the user now sees data from section 2 of the application instead of section 1 after the postback.
The problem I am having is once I update records from section 1 and proceed to the next section, every single record in the table is updated with the same entry. It's as if it was connected to all the records even though I queried only a few.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and maybe some ideas on fixing it?
