Regarding to what you define as stealing:
I don't know if you ever lived in a country where a technical book costs 1/4 of the minimum wage, which barely is enough to get food. So there are people who would never afford to buy those books. And when they get it for free, they aren't making and loss for the writer/publisher because it's something they couldn't pay for anyway. So instead of wasting their lives, ending up construction workers or waiters at McDonalds because they had the bad luck to be born in a f***ed up country, they learn something which gives them a minimum change to make a decent living. And when they'll achieve that, be sure they will buy books and not 'steal' them.
Do you think that the Indian MVPs here at CP got where they are without 'stealing' any book or piece of software ever? You would be very wrong.

Truth is, with the internet, you don't need to buy books.
The irony is, these people will become devs and will be upset if anyone steals the code they hope to be paid for writing.

I don't know what you're even suggesting. That those of us who spent countless hours in libraries, online, or searching out second-hand books were being stupid? That internet access in these countries you speak of is somehow incredibly inexpensive by comparison to food and books?

If you don't have the money but want the book why don't you write the publisher? We've all been there and honestly when I've done such things I usually get the publisher to show an act of generosity. Just write them. Don't try to do something illegal (it is illegal despite the morality) here that's just going to get you hammered. Do the right thing.

case 1: local web service
I am able use the method in asmx file in my aspx i think it is a local web service
case 2: Remote web service
I am able to use the method remotely also by taking web reference in my solution explorer. Following link is free Web service to get Stock Quote of the company by passing the company symbol.

It's simple. When your request comes across the wire and is loaded into the proxy at your end, a background dirty bit is set. The SOAP comes in by removing the dirty bit so that your application can work with clean data.

You don't use it explicitly. VS spares you of that pain. If you look in the solution explorer, you will see that VS created classes from the WSDL file that your web referenece points to. Those are called proxy classes and they have methods which correspond to the web service methods defined in the WSDL. When you call a method of the proxy class, that call is translated behind the scenes into a SOAP request which is passed to the service.
There are a number of programs which allow you to capture network traffic and show you the SOAP reqest/response if you want to do that.

Hi all,
I've never working with a web base application before. I'll explain my question as follows.
I've an application, a windows base application written in C#. There is a GUI to communicate with a user.
Now what I want to do is, simply remove that GUI and replace it with a Web interface, actually a web browser interface. How can I do it. Can I use that application as a dll with the web base interface.

I have had this need a couple of times and in theory you can add webmethod to your dll methods and do this but the difference of stateless processing is just enough that it was easier to rebuild the object model to support both properly.

hi.... i have made two fields in SQL server 2005 named DistrictId smallint and DistrictName varchar(100).In a web application (language C#) i have made a form in which i have made a text box in which user will enter the name of the district which he want to modify.i want a code for the purpose that user will enter the name of district and when he click on the button named MODIFY the district name will be modified.Please help me as soon as possible...........
