I have a list box in a popup window wher ethe user can select area's then when they click ok it passes the area's they have selected on the main window.

so they open the popup select say (area1, area 3, area7) outs of a possible list of ten. Then when they click ok on the original screen that they opened the popup from it displays...

you selected...
area1
area3
area7

as a simple example.

however when the user selects all the areas via the button "All". its will just show

you selected...
all

I currently have the all bit working following your example with the calendar. Its getting the multiple values working. I orginally thought of adding the value of each one they have selected to an array and then passing the array back. Its then getting it to display the values that are stored in the array i.e area1, area3, area7.

you can add the elected iteam a string with some Delemiter and pass it to main window and the just split the string with the delemiter.

Is there a way of temporarily disabling a SharePoint workflow for a list item?

I have a situation where I send out an email if a list item yes/no box is checked. The workflow is triggered when a list item is either added to the list or updated, allowing for either immediate notification when the item is added, if it is complete, or deferred notification if the list item is not yet complete when added but completed at a later date.

In addition to sending out the email in the workflow I would like to update a list item field with a date/time stamp of when the email notification was sent and un-check the yes/no box so if there is a failure to deliver the email it can be sent again by checking the box. The problem is if I update the list item the workflow will be triggered again which is what I would like to avoid.

I would like to have the workflow only execute when a manual update is made but not when the automatic update from the workflow itself alters the list item.

If I could temporarily disable the workflow for the individual list item while I update it and then enable it again I could accomplish this.

If anyone knows how I can accomplish this please let me know.

Hi I have installed vs2008 and I already have a project on source safe 2005 and vs2005
When opening it in vs2008 it tells me to convert to vs2008. If I say yes, it tells me whether I want to convert to .net framework 3.5 or leave in 2.0. I am telling it to leave in 2.0. It checks out the solution and the project and opens normally in vs2008. But when I debug, I am getting the following error.

Error 4 Cannot write to the output file "C:\Users\pc\Desktop\projectname\BusinessLayer\obj\Debug\BusinessLayer.Resources.resources". Access to the path 'C:\Users\pc\Desktop\projectname\BusinessLayer\obj\Debug\BusinessLayer.Resources.resources' is denied. BusinessLayer

I have tried to delete debug from BusinessLayer and then rebuild but another problem pop up
Error 3 Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\BusinessLayer.dll" to "bin\Debug\BusinessLayer.dll". Access to the path 'bin\Debug\BusinessLayer.dll' is denied. BusinessLayer

Any ideas. It is urgent please and thanks in advance

Hi,
I am working on a dotnet 3.5 project where i need a customized google search box in my application. There are some results which i need

The search box should search only within a particular site/sites
The search box should search only selected directories within a site
The search results page should not show google logo and i should be able to customize the search results
(for eg by default the google search results page will show all search results on a single page , I want to divide the page into two frames and left side i want to show the results in xml,xsl format and right side i want to open the documents)

Any such type of service google is providing pls reply me

if you are talking about Argument on java script , use

you can now pass any number of argumetns and cas access as args[0], args[1] etc... .

Insert the statement "debugger;" as the first line of the function that is failing. This will allow the VS debugger to stop on this portion of the script, and let you examine the arguments and the call stack (the JS call stack).

Really though, this looks like the hard way of doing things. Why not just create a shell page with all the HTML you need and then load it with window.open() Then you can just manipulate the parts you need to with using javascript.

I suggest you click reply to my post, then view source. Have a look at the javascript that is run when you click 'quote selected text' on this page. Assuming it's in the page, and not an external js file, but, you know you can type the path to those js files into the browser, in order to view them.

Well, yes, but of course, if you do that, the person is going to see their page disappear and refresh, so that's not really as nice a solution. C# code obviously only runs on postback, unless you use AJAX, and why would you use AJAX to do somethign you can do on the client ?
