Back in college, I should have taken classes like modern dance.
Not that I'm particularly interested in modern dance, but:
1) The class will be almost entirely female
2) They'd be dressed ever so nicely.*
3) We'd often be in close contact, creating a comfort level
4) We'd appear to have a common interests
5) And I could help them with their homework

Only if I understood women 20 years ago as I do now. Instead of going years without a date (and shedding a lot of tears over it) I would have always had at least 1 girl, probably a half dozen. But that is life.

As a software developer working for a well-dressed female manager you're pretty much in the same boat. Except that the comfort level comes from you adhering to her deadlines, no matter how unrealistic 
And yes, you'd be helping with her homework too - evaluating vendors, components etc 
On the plus side, there would be many late nights together... well you and her requirements spec.

I think I hit upon a course of action for you to explore.
Reading your bio, I noted you referred to yourself in the third person.
Could this be symbolic of a lack of confidence?
Change the bio - to first person - maybe even first person plural.
Then get out their and live that first-person plurality where your manager can take notice.
(also, a rolled up sock in . . . ).

Not a good attitude, at all.
The hour? Only a small portion of girl-watching allocation - and guaranteed to have highly visually rewarding experience.
Superficial Girls? That simply translates to no committments. At that point in my life, the idea is rather promising.
Strange Guy taking lady subjects ? Nah. Hot guy with beautiful smile and nice ass and legs.
More than enough contact? Maybe - but here they're lining up for voluntary groping. I'd just have to force myself.
My interests are quite diverse - even a discussion of entropy can be couched in a philosophical vale - and then there's music, food, politics, and lots of other things (You just may need to shut down your PC for a while)
Actually, I learned some time ago - the way to a woman's heart (&etc!) is through her stomach. Better than going out? I learned to cook (side effect of so many years of chemistry and physics). Fine conversation while the magic takes place in the pots and pans. Then food, wine, and a handy place to relax together in private.
It's all a matter of preparation and attitude.
(And, if all else fails, I can simply show them how I can lick my eye-brows.)

The real thing, which means: use local resources, not imported exotics. An equivalent basis set can always be found. (in other words, screw the recipe books).
My results can't be too bad - I've seen many a carnivore take seconds if/when anything was left.
Basically - foods and spices have properties - as did my lovely super-size chemistry set (back in real life). Then we've the equipment (pots, pans, stovetops, microwaves). Noting to it.
Of necessity, I even worked out a solution to cooking without salt: careful use of garlic and hot pepper will very successfully emulate the perceptions supplied by salt (simultaneously sharp and mellow). The amount of either doesn't have to be obvious to the taster - that depends upon the dish.
High in importance: One-pot (wok) cooking: clean-up sucks. And efficiency - Start-to finish in 30 minutes (including making rice).
Italian food is good, too. I'd like to get a handle on Indian cooking, but no practical experience sources have come my way (astonishing for a programmer). Let us not forget just random cooking of whatever's available - which amounts to local cooking wherever one lives.

What is the point of travelling back in time and be original and run the risk of failure. You take a proven concept with you and implement it before the original guy comes up with the idea, so that you may reap the benefits. You sound like the type of person, that will travel back in time to play the lottery without taking the winning numbers with you and then wonder why you didn't win, sounds pretty daft to me.
