I am trying to do the below
In Server Side Page_Load (IsPostback) with sever side conditions I am Calling javascript confirm and trying to Return Client Confirm Return value back to the Server on the Runtime. I have pasted the both Server side code and Javascript function below.

what is the issue ? Where do you find it doesn't do what you expect ?
Why do a postback if they don't want to save ? Use OnClientClick to return false if they don't want to save and the OnClick of a button will not be called, no postback will occur.

Isn't he expecting his server variable (hdn_pschange.Value) to have changed after he adds his javascript to the output stream? Surly that's not going to happen right?

Isn't that what UnSavedDataconfirm does ? Set the text in that hidden control ? Either way, his problem is so urgent that he can't answer us, so....

Sure but it's not going to effect the current state of your server code at the time you call Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript

Here is my problem. I have an asp page that is a calender.
Once someone picks a Lake and then moves forward 1 month or back one month (using th e < or > images in the calendar on the right side of the screen) they lose the lake and need to repick it. Somehow I need the links associated with the images < and > to dynamically create the URL using the LAKE selected.
I have full source code for anyone who wants to take a look at it.

I suspect that you've got selection of some sort happening on the page, but it's lost when your calendar does a postback. Please explain how a lake is displayed and how it's selected. DO you mean a lake, as in a picture of water ?

Yes a Lake is a Lake as in Body of water or "Event Type" that will limit the results shown in the query to that lake only.
explanation on what the page does: It is a calendar of fishing tournaments. The tournaments happen on many lakes and we would like the user to be able to show just one lake's events and then be able to advance month by month looking at all the tournaments only on that lake. . It does work to show the current month only for the selected lake but, when you click < or > to get to the next month - it loses it's lake setting and you have to start over by choosing that lake again.
Would you like me to email you the .asp page?
As I mentioned I am willing to pay for this small modification.

No need to pay me, helping folks is what we do here.
How is the list of lakes shown ? Where does the list come from ? One common mistake is, if you have a control that is databound and your code sets the data source and databinds every time the page loads, then any selection will be lost. You should set the datasource in a block like this
if (!IsPostback)
{
// set the datasource and databind.
}
If that's not the issue, then perhaps post some of the aspx, so we can see how the calendar and list of lakes are created.

I think I understand what you are saying about the dynamic building of the select page.
Hmmmmm Sounds like it may not be possible with the databound select list.

Is this ASP.NET, or ASP ? It looks like ASP to me. You are indeed building a list, and doing it the hard way, if this is ASP.NET, which I doubt. You're going to lose your selections, because you're rebuilding your list.

OK. I would heartily recommend you abandon ASP if you can. You can get free dev tools for ASP.NET and it's a whole different world. It's actually nice to work with. I'm sorry, I hated ASP when forced to use it and I've not used it since it became obsolete, in 2002. I would recommend you try the web development forum, that's where ASP questions belong. Even then, there's not many people who still use it. Broadly speaking, you need some way of setting which objects are selected as you write them into the list ( that part is easy, it's knowing which parts are selected that is hard ). I suspect you'd write javascript to store the ids of selected lakes into a hidden field and then you'd pull that value out of the post data when the form reloads. I do recall having to do that with ASP.
Sorry I can't help more. Why are you stuck with ASP ? Is it a legacy project ?

I developed on my PC a Website on .Net 2.0 and i am using SQL 2000.
After putting the files on the Host and trying to open the page i am getting:
When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
If i am putting in my pc connectionstring the IP of the SQL Server 2000 prodcution then its working fine with my DB that i have uploaded.
this is my connectionstring:
connectionString="Data Source=XX.XXX.XXX.XX;Initial Catalog=MYDB;User id=MyUser;Password=MyPWD;
1.Why while running it from the production i am getting this error?
2.I have under App_Code the file Dal.cs. while this file holding my connection to the DB. when i am doing a temp Website without the DAL and connecting to the SQL Server Production directly then its working fine. do i need special treatment when its under Dal.cs?
3.Any other ideas????

I bet the code is doing exactly what it says. I expect you are trying to add textboxes. Try doing it in the code behind and adding the controls to the page.

Create object of TextBox Class.
Give an ID.
Add with your page.
That's All.

i have a gridview, with alternate row of diff color.
i have div as one of template item.
how to change the color of scrollbar of that div to it's row's color.
for example;
say odd numbered rows are of white color and even numbered rows are blue color.
i have a div in all the rows.
i want div of white colored row to have scrollbar of white color and div of blue colored row to have scrollbar of blue color.
any help...

AFIK :Gridview has a AlternativeRowColor Property , please check it.
you can do it also using CSS .

You want Div Scroll color will be based on Row color. But i dont think so it is possilbe. You can chage your Div Scrollbar color in a single color but one Scroll having different color

hey its not one scrollbar having different color...
my gridview has a column with header comment..
and the templatefied for that column is a div..
that means each row wil have different div....
now i want the scrollbar of this div to have color of its row's backcolor...
