Hello friend,

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR ALL FRIENDS.

I have written simple html page in which i am trying to load image using tag.
In internet explorer all the things and loading image working fine.
But while using Mozilla firefox, the image is not showing.
Please give me a solution.

why u are using the path like "C:\\myimage\\2303.jpg"

Instead use a relative path, only then it will be displayed in firefox.

For eg: if your html file is in 'a' folder and images are in 'myimage' folder, and this folder is inside 'a' folder then path will be

Like
A>a.html
A>myimage>2303.jpg

<img id="0" alt="myimage" src="myimage/2303.jpg" height="100%" width="100%" />

Thanks for your kind reply.

But my html pages are in "C:\Program files" folder.
And images may be available on C drive or D drive.
So I need to give path like C:\myimage\2306.jpg or D:\myimages\2306.jpg
How I can give full path in "src" so it will work fine in mozilla.
Please give me a solution.

In this case use DREAMWEAVER for assigning the image paths to file.

I tried the same as you are doing. My HTML file is on desktop and Images are in D drive then the path generated is as

<img src="file:///D|/ShubhRishtey.com/Images/shubhrishtey_banner1.jpg" />

The above code works in Firefox. Try using this technique.

Is strong name assembly secure?

I don't think so unless somebody convince me.

you can easily crack any strong name assembly.

try ildasm *.dll /out=*.il
open *.il from notepad, remove public key section, then crack whatever you want
ilasm *.il

done!

Reflector is a nice tool to decompile *.il

Encoding problem with cookies

Hello,
I'm trying to read data from a cookie (In hebrew) but I got just garbage.

The read and write are like this:
myCookie["aa"] = ServerEncode(TxtBox1.Text);
TxtBox1.Text = Server.HtmlDecode(Request.Cookies["myCookie"]["aa"]) ;

I tried all the combination of decode and encode in the read and write but the result is the same.

When I'm opening the cookie in notepad its look right and the data is in hebrew.
Also - when I'm running the application on my local pc its look good and it read the cookie in hebrew.
Only on the server it can't read it well but I don't see any diffrence between my pc and the server.

I'm using fw2, c#.

using the globalization in the web config and adding URLEncoding/Decoding instad of htmlEncoding/Decoding.

Use custom validators and write an onclientclick method for the button that returns true, after setting a javascript variable that turns off validation.

Yeah, I figured that, given that I was asking you to know ASP.NET and write code. Using validation groups is a better idea actually, I forgot about those.

Set ValidationGroup a special value for both search button ,textBox,and validator if exists in Search area.
Example:

ValidationGroup="search"

Hello All,

Im trying to make a simple web app so i can send emails from the website.
Im using Visual Studio 2008 / C#. I am having problems sending the email due to the problem with the web.config settings.
Within the web.config file , more specifically where the host is specified.
...what do I need to put here if I want to use a third party email like gmail and what other things do I need to add in or consider.
Initially I tried using a local host address but that didnt work either.

Why do you need anything in the web.config ? why not just write code that sets the server up ? I didn't even know you COULD set up something special in the web.config, and I've written tons of web sites that send emails.

I WOULD store the server as custom fields in the config, to make it easy to change, but I wouldn't do anything more special than storing and retrieving the server info.

Writing the code is the alternative...if Im correct, but Im having real problems trying to establish the host server.

Can someone please help me with the following scenario. I do not like how the default setting is to have the select and delete button together in a grid view row so I am extending gridview (for other reasons) and am dynamically adding my own fields, select at 0, delete at columns.count - 1.

Whenever I add OnClientClick code to the delete button the button is just posting back and not firing a delete command.

OK, I have worked out why, should have found it earlier.

The OnClientClick is being output like this when I add my own client click code:

onclick="return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this item?\n\nClick OK to delete this item or Cancel to keep it.');javascript:__doPostBack('OrganicGridView1','Delete$0')"

So my new question is, what event do I need to hook to so I can output something like this. I could do it client side but I would rather not.

onclick="if(confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this item?\n\nClick OK to delete this item or Cancel to keep it.')) { javascript:__doPostBack('OrganicGridView1','Delete$0') }"

ok, I have tried everything I can think of and cannot do it server side. I have tried ButtonFields, TemplateFields, CommandFields and all offer different access to the button but it still renders it's own javascript that I cannot change.

So ... I have resolved it with client side code let the gridview to render it out.
If anyone requires the code, see below.

If anyone has a server side solution please let me know.
