How to restrict the validation-controls, to fire the validation only on the click of a particular button.
I am having 2 buttons on the page in 2 different panels(say,button1 in panel1 & button2 in panel2). Both are set as defaultButtons on each panels. Only 1 panel(panel2) is having validation controls. But suppose if I am using panel1 ,on the click of Enter,it should not check the validations in panel2 rather it should perform the button1_click(). How can I achieve this. Kindly Give some advice.

You can do one thing,
Just collect the validation controls from the panel1 assign them to a group( there is property of each validator control "ValidationGroup" and give a value to it) and then set the property "ValidationGroup",set it with the name of the group that you made of the button in panel1.
Do similarly for Panel2.
It'll solve your problem.If any issue please let me know

Hey,Thanx for your reply but,its not working.I am still getting those validation errors.I might have done something wrong.
What I did was, I assigned a common name to the ValidationGroup property of the button & all the validation controls in 1 panel.But it dint work.It is still showing me all error messages on pressing Enter Key.
One more thing, I am having a reCaptcha in 2nd panel,with other validators. Along with the validators this reCaptcha is also checked on client side & this is not among the Data Validators provided by .net. So,how can I deal with this reCaptcha even after changing the settings for the rest of the validators.
Kindly guide.

You must given different group name to panel2 controls?Do the same for both panel. and on enter whicn is getting clicked.If still there are issues post you code here.Then I can try to identify the problem.

What are the issues are you getting ?

What issues do you have when creating a Virtual Directory ?
Because when you create a Setup Project for Web , there is a Property that allows you to enter the Name of the Virtual Directory and automaticall it will be created under (inetpubs/wwwroot/) still open for correction.
Now when it comes to the code to Handle the Radio button, am not sure what are you talking about. because we dont write a code in setup Projects.

Coming to my issue can u send any code or link about that property which allows me to create Virtual Directory automatically it will be created under (inetpubs/wwwroot/) .(Please rember that i want at the Deployment of the Web setup project)
are u can explain me from these Reply.
Coming to the Radio Buttons issue,there is a userintrface screens where i can select Radio Buttons .just i want to how to write the code for that issue and where 2 write.

When you create a Web Setup Project, in your Setup Project right Click and Select "View FileSystem" , on your left hand side you will see "Web Application Folder" , right click on it and select Properties and in the Properties the last option is "Virtual Directory" that is where you name your Virtual Directory. By default you will find that the virtual Directory is equal to the name of your Setup Project. Make Sure when you Create a Setup Project you only Select "Web Setup Project" not "Setup Project".
At the end ofg the day you want to Deploy you Web Application like a Windows application by using a Setup. Now if you want to Do more you can Configuire it there is not code that is needed to be Written for radio buttons. can you explain what more Options do you want.

What u have said i got it ,But i am not getting the properties what u have said i think i am doing in setup project i will check and let u know.
when Coming to the Radio Button i am doing database Installer script which runs automatically when it is deploying or installing it.
Of cource i got the soution.But, i want Radio Button bcoz there are 3 options 1 is for Sql Server and 2 is for Oracle and 3 is for MySql
When he selects any one of these,means i want to install my script in that particular Database.
and i will Be providing the Connection String also like "Server name,Database name,Username,password" at the time of the installation
So i want code for the Radio Buttons.how to handle at the time of the Deployment or installation

I have downloaded application from code project.
Its giving error like
It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS
How can i clear this problem?

U can use instance of Bitmap class like this
Bitmap b = new Bitmap(...)
ans use public Save method to save image with format ImageFormat.Gif
and if u want to resize image , try this code , hope it help

Hi,
As i have downloaded a small asp.net ajax project and i added this project to my visual studio 2005 and when i execute the project the error message "object reference not set to an instance of an object". and also i modified the connection string. The ASPNET.MDF file in server explorer is having the cross mark. can anyone provide solution for this.

Debug the code.And check the line of code from that you are getting this error and it would be helpful if you put your piece of code here.

Hi Samiullah,
this has nothing to do with the connection string. The program is missing an object, where an object is expected it is null. Check the exception details for the line in the code where the exception is thrown. This will give you a hint which object is missing.
