Java was a true MS enemy

well, because they wanted to. By making people think Java was the enemy, they would naturally come to .NET, which is the obvious antagonist of Java. but Java never attempted to make some dark over Microsoft. Java is Cross Plateform, which .NET is definitely not, and Sun have another niche than MS, so they don't really disturb each other.
What I hate in this is earing all that idiot programmers spitting that Java is Crap, and .NET is way better, but who never put their hands into a java code for once. Microsoft is the only culprit in this way of thinking which is hateful.
.NET is sure a good product, but I'd never say it is best for anything. it has good advantages over Java, such like Java has many other good advantages over .NET too !

Unfortunately they try to do that

disgraceful

I called Java 'the enemy' while it is by no means our enemy

None is MY enemy. I use all, depending on my needs.

IMHO the .NET platform is quite similar though better than the Java one. But that's natural, Java was a rather pioneer experience

Hey, Java is not a dinosaur. it's still being improved, so I repeat myself, saying .NET is better means nothing.

VBScript

that's totally different. I was talking about VB 6 and/or VB.NET.
