Hi everebody,
After we applied the security update that is described in security bulletin MS07-040 - our ASP.NET 2.0 application started showing garbage data.
I read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940521/en-us[^] and suspecting that this is happening beacuse of this.
If we refresh the page then the garbage characters are removed.
Please help if you could suggest anything.

If that is the reason for the problem, then your application has started to show garbage data that has been there all the time. That means that the update did not cause the problem, it was just not visible before.
Where does the garbage data show, and what does it look like?

Its showing any time at the top of the page. garbage code like "? ad&g "is showing randomly at the top. when i press refresh then its gone randomly.

Does this happen on any page in the application or on a specific page?

its happening to any page at any time. no any purticular pages. Sometime its showing the garbage like "؎?cript type="text/javascript">" in pages. We have two website on the same server. both are showing the same error. after refresh its gone.

Hi,
I am working on a task to Display Timer count down in GridView, in Asp.net with C#.net. Here timer Count Down will be given particular time, for example 05:00:00 hours. In the GridView this duration of time should decrement and finally it should reach 00:00:00. This should be done for every element of GridView. If anyone have solution for this Please reply me as soon as posssible.

Well, obviously the only way to do this, is with javascript. There's tons of examples of js timers on the web.

Hi,
When i use modalpopup Extender and trying show a message on button click the Dropdownlists which are present on my webform are getting Disappeared and when i press cancel(which is present in my message box(using Modal popup)) they reappears(dropdownlists)

You want to apply CSS, but you don't know what it is ? Why don't you buy some books if you want to learn programming ? Or, why don't you try learning to use google ? If you learn what a CSS class is, you will be able to apply one. Search for CSS beginner tutorials.

Then you did something wrong. Without seeing any of the code I can only give you a couple of guesses, like:
- Misspelled class name
- Different case
- Forgot the period before the class
- Overridden by another class
If you use a tool like FireBug for Firefox, you can look at the element and see what CSS applies to it and what CSS is overridden.

Friend CCS class name is case sensitive. make sure you are providing correct case with correct name.

I have to open a new window using code behind(VB)..I tried

But dis open s popup which can not be seeen when popup blocker is activated..
Is there any way to open a new window instead of a popup even when popup blocker is active..

Well that would defeat the purpose of having a pop-up blocker...if you wish to by-pass a popup blocker means that you are trying to identify a hole in the browser security...
I think you cannot do that ...even if you do it by any trick that would be patched up anyway by the browser makers...

Yes.. he is right, rather what you can do is to write the content of the page into a hidden div that acts similar to popup, and show that div.

Lastly Formating your code at code Project is easy, just add your code between the pre tag like this
