C# has access to Managed DirectX, so also Direct3D. Using it you can render almost everything. If there are classes that support TrueVision3D files I can't tell.. you might need to create them yourself or use a different file format.

I'll be honest, 3D programming is something I haven't done before, so please be a bit more specific. What do you mean by 'access to managed DirectX & Direct3D'? How do one go about using those?

They are installed with the DirectX SDK. If you haven't done 3D programming before, then you might just be biting off more than you can chew with this project. It's not something that you can pick up quickly - 3D is one of the most demanding areas you can work in.

You may have a look at the XNA-Framework,

i think its a little bit easier then plain DX coding.
If you don't want to have so much trouble with 3D programming and your models are only a view simple sprites, then have a look at GDI+. I already saw some good "3d" charts with it.

It's possible - but may be overly complex ... however you might ant to look here[^]

It could be a fun project, though - and one that can be split between a number of developers quite successfully (someone can concentrate on the display of the object, someone else on the user interface (rotating, scaling etc) another on the calculations... then at least, for example, if the 3D display proves too hard before marking time, window can display the dimensions as text.

The 'real world' issue, to my mind, is tying a specific 3D model to some sort of generic display routine; e.g. a table with four legs vs a stool with three, one with a round top the other rectangular...

Hi,
I have developed an application windows forms. I need to place at the top portion an area for banners. The data for banner will be on a web server it can be any type of data. I have tried an swf file but it didn't work.
I have used
axShockwaveFlash1.LoadMovie(0, "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soVQcF_ZxpI");
axShockwaveFlash1.Play();
If you suggest to use swf file I will have an xml file at server that will return a number of urls like above. A url will be selected randomly and will be played.

If some other technique is better I am ready to use it as swf is not the requirement but on clicking the banner should open a url.

I've done something similiar with a WebBrowser control. It actually is the IE browser control hosted in you app, so it's quite powerful. The only thing you should be sure of is making your ad webpages small enough to fit fine in the control in your form. But that shouldn't be hard.

In my use of the WebBroser control, I do two things: set the AllowNavigation property to false, and remove the target of all FORM tags in the HTML during the WebBrowser's DocumentCompleted event. This is to disallow users from navigating away from the ad. But in my case, some users can specify the URL to display there, so that's just an extra layer of protection. If you totally control what will be displayed in your control and you don't put any links in your pages, you can skip this.

how can i avoid this and why they give my this mark in mysql and its not found in Access

MySql is not putting the newline character(s) in. It's more likely that your not properly massaging and validating the data beofer your send it to be stored in the database.

Hi,

i get list of IVSSVersion object. after that i run a loop on it to get the version number, name, user etc. but i also need to show the checkout information for the particular checkin. for an example, if i checkout ver 3 and check in it as version 4. again i checkout ver 3 and checkin it as version 5. now in the report i need to show like that,

Checkout version, user, check in version
3,Jon,4
3,Jon,5

or have a look on SLP-Services (Software Licensing Protection) or something like that.
With this, you have 2 great opportunities:
- encrypt special parts of your code
- protect functionality with lincence

negative part is the costs.

The best way, is to write them in C++. An obsfucator that will truly protect you, will cost a fortune, and all it does is protect your source. To stop people copying your app you need a licensing system that involves using the web to count how many machines a licence has been used for.

Hi every one,

Am unable to resolve this error:

Error: The assembly "D:\ActiveXProjects\csharpactivexglobe\csharpactivexglobe\bin\Debug\csharpactivexglobe.dll" could not be converted to a type library. Type library exporter encountered an error while processing'csharpactivexglobe.Globe.ActiveXObject, csharpactivexglobe'. Error: Element not found. csharpactivexglobe

I was trying to do regasm /codebase /tlb MyAssemblie.dll but unable to convert to a type library. Could you please give me any suggession to fix this error.

First of all, C# cannot target building an ActiveX component. It can make something that looks and acts like one, but isn't a true ActiveX.

Which brings me to the question. Is this component attributed to be exposed to COM?

I have had the same problem sice yesterday, I was spending today to find out waht the problem is.
Beside some solutions I hvae found (duplicate guid for assembly and class) but did not work for me, I found the solution for me:
I am using a vb6 com-class library dll as a reference in my .NET project. I have changed that com class library dll by removing a function from one of the classes, because it is no more used/needed. After adding this function and recompiling the vb6 com library, registering again in .NET project, the problem was gone. It seams, that the type library exporter remebers some information somewhere, that even a clean did not swipe out. My be the old version of the type library was still hanging aaround somewhere in the registry.
Afterwards I again removed the unnecessary function from the dll, unregistered to old one registered the new one and, even then the problem was gone. So seams to be a windows registry mystery. I hope it helps some folks, so they do not search and loose hours and hours like i did.
