I bet this is not you company`s mail server, because its 127.0.0.1 which refers to your "localhost" which you need to configured manually by you. First configure it and try again.
When you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.

all our servers have smtp configured locally. The SMTP server is wired to the exchange server. So, all our application mail goes through localhost and this is company mail server. I don't see any problem with that.

Oh didn't you notice, analogous to square roots, they recently introduced rectangular, circular, and diamond roots to determine the size of the corresponding shapes when given the area. Luc Pattyn[^]

I think you haven't noticed that little nasty single quote in front of 'SmtpMail.SmtpServer = "127.0.0.1"
There's also a small note almost at the bottom explaining about the SMTP-server.

I did see that, but decided not to raise the issue. The reason was, he might have first tried it, it did not work, then commented it out and it did not work.
By the way, if it is not set, it will use localhost by default.

Hi Friends,
I have this web application developed using ASP.NET with C#. Now I want to convert it to a desktop application i.e. a Windows Application Project.
Is there any option available with the .NET framework to do so...? Any Activex Control available for the same..? Or do I have to reconstruct the whole application again..??
Regards..
Jim

The level of effort depends on how the application was architectured.
If the layers of application Presentation/View and other layers are not tightly coupled . all you have to do is to go ahead and create a similar view in Winforms and use the existing Business layers etc.
If this is not the case. then you will have to redo most part of the application.

I've registerd my dll in com by using the regserv from .Net framework 2.0 as in
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727>regsvcs "D:\Development\MyProdjekt\Main\bin\My.BusinessLogicObjects.dll"
It seems to be registerd ok, as it does on my xp machine.
But i still get: COMExeption occurred: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)
Is there something I am missing, my new machine uses Vista Ultimate 64bit
Thanks
Thomas

It has to be registerd under the 64bit framework as in
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727>regsvcs "D:\Development\MyProdjekt\Main\bin\My.BusinessLogicObjects.dll"
That was freeking many hours wasted!!!

Is it possible to stop the execute of the program. Iam check for a condition. If it is true i want to stop the execution. How it is possible?
|
|
|
|
|
Yes it is possible. If the condition is false, simply you can come out of the block or redirect it to another one.

You can use
System.Windows.Forms.Application.Exit() for Windows Apps
and Response.End for Web Application.

Hi,
By adding clientscript at the serverside, you can close the page ....
ie; by using ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock() you can achieve this...
|
|
|
|
|
Thanks kumar but can u give me some more detail of this function.
|
|
|

How can you be working on a presumably paid project, which has requirements, but not know how to use google, or know about the basics of ASP.NET ?

hi,
The function will work like this:
syntax:
ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(
Me.GetType(), "Ur ScriptName", "Ur javascript code for closing page ")
