The please do as Cedric asks, and provide more information.
"It does not work" is useless. Would you go to your doctor and say "I'm ill"? No, you'd say "I have pain in my right knee when I go pole dancing" - that would give her something useful to work with.
"It does not work" could be anything.
My first advice would be to write an extremely simple C dll that only has one function - and that just returns a number. Then get that working with a simple VB program that uses it. Then get more ambitious once you know you can connect the two together.
C++ has name decoration which would cause you trouble - look that up on google for more information - it's not a small subject.

Hi all,
i have an dialog based application i m using registry function like:
RegOpenKeyEx
RegCreateKeyEx
RegSetValueEx
RegCloseKey
RegDeleteKeyEx
but these are not working on Vista when UAC is enabled.
please tell me what can i do.

Its probably because you're trying to open certain registry keys that a standard user doesn't have access to.
Now don't simply say that its not working.
You need to check the return value and error code.
Or at least give a little more information.
Otherwise we would only be sorry for you that its not working.

As superman says, it's because you're writing to registry entries you should not be writing as a "normal user".
You have two choices:
1/ Change your software to respect the different parts of the registry. If you don't already know the answer to your question you shouldn't be writing some install or other fancy software anyway
2/ Search for vista manifest elevation to get vista to ask the user if it's alright to access these keys.

Dear All,
I have developed a project for an ActiveX. It compiles fine without any error and generates the intended OCX (e.g. MyOCX.ocx). The resource file for the project contains some custom made figures, dialog resource and string table entries.
I need to compile the same code with same resource to produce another OCX (e.g. MyOCX1.ocx) in the same compilation. At present, I am achieving this by changing the project settings in the project properties window (e.g. Preprocessor, MIDL, etc.), changing the resource by opening it in text editor (e.g. TYPELIB - MyOCX1.tlb) and IDL file for CLSID.
I would like to know if there is any other automated process for achieving the same to produce two OCXs at the same time in a single compilation process. It will be a great help for me if anyone has done this already and share the process with me.
Followings are the environments I am using:
1) OS: Windows XP SP2
2) VS 2003.
3) VC++ 7

Assignment
Your task is to implement a Catalog of Books.
1. For this first you have to implement Book class The Book class is a simple class to store information about a particular book and it has the following data members:
o Title of the book (string)
o Author of the book (string)
o ISBN of the book (string)
o Status of the book (bool)
Write default and parameterized constructors and setters getters for the Book class.
2. Catalog class is a linked list of Book objects and that can perform the following functionality.
o Add method to add a book in the Catalog
o printAllBooks method to print all the books in the Catalog.
o searchByAuthor method will take author name as an argument and will find a book written by that author.
o Available method to print all those books that are currently available. If the status of a book is false than it means that book is not available, if the status is true then it means book is available.
3. Include a main function as follows:
o Main will create 5 different books and add them in Catalog
o Print all books present in Catalog linked list.
o Search a Book by its Author name.
o Print all the books which are available.
Hint:
Make Nodes of Book type and then link them to make Catalog linked list. It means there will be another class between Book and Catalog and that is BookNode class.

Introduction:
In this course we are going to develop software for “School System” that will computerize all the necessary school processes. This software will facilitate the school management in running and managing the school. We will mainly focus on these aspects,
1. Teacher and Student Record Keeping
2. Student Grading
3. School Library Management
The explanations of these three parts are given below,
1. Teacher and Student Record Keeping
Our software will store record of students and teachers in the school.
a. We will store necessary attributes for students such as,
(name, age, parents name, address, class, roll no …..)
Student class may have extra attributes like borrowed book name or id and student grades as well.
b. We will store necessary attributes for teachers such as,
(name, age, NIC No, address, education, experience, teaching subjects…..)
2. Student Grading
We will store grades of each student for all subjects.
3. School Library Management System
This part will keep track of all books present in the library as well as it will keep record of borrowing and returning of books by students.
Task Description:
This Assignment is starting phase of this system in this assignment you will focus on the tasks given below:
1. You have to identify the main entities (objects) for this system.
2. You will have to find out the necessary attributes and functions that need to be associated with each object to implement the functionality mentioned above. (There will be setter and getter functions corresponding to each attribute and other necessary functions for example there may be a function borrow book in student class that may store name or id of the borrowed book by the student similarly it can have functions to store and show grades of the student).
3. You have to find out the relationships between these objects, for example teacher and student common attributes can be combined in a single base class.
4. You will make a final comprehensive object model showing all objects and their relations along with their attributes and functions.
You have to perform all these four steps give above in your solution file.
Note:
a. Use all concepts you have studied so far like abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, generalization, specialization, sub-typing and association to students.
b. You need not to worry about data types of attributes at this moment these will be considered in next assignments.
Drawing Final Object Model:
a. You can use any tool for drawing like MS Office or Visio.
b. Or you can use open source tool Argo UML (in that case you have to install java run time environment as well links to download and install both are given on the page)
