what do you mean by transparent? CP links are not transparent, you can clearly see the URL path.
What you need to do is add Users/Membership to your site and allow users to login. Once user is logged in keep their logged in state (session,cookie etc). Then when clicks on a link, check if they are logged in, if so allow them to continue, if not take them to login page.
Alternatively, show the link only when a user is logged in, otherwise the user does not get to see the link.

In ASP.net you can define a folder that can be accesed only the user is loged on
to do this you have to define location like
<location path="Files">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?">
|
|
|
|
|
<location path="Admin">
<system.web>
<authorization>
<deny users="?">

Hi guys
I am having a weird problem on the client's test server. ASP.NET 2.0.
My application works fine on my machine (where it is developped) and works fine on 2 of our test servers. However, once copied to the client's server, I am having a problem with only one page. The user logs in fine and selects a page from the menu. A grid will appear with a list of roles. The grid contains action image buttons to perform edit, delete, activate, deactive for each role. When I click on the edit image button I get the ajax popup alert error 404. I don't understand why it only happens in this page and only on this image button. If I click on view or deactivate, it works fine!
Many pages are ajax-enabled, not only this one, and they were fine!
any ideas?
Thanks,
Talal

that should give you the hint. It did not find the page on the server. Make sure whatever the page you trying to connect exists.

What are the question marks? I suppose they are some special characters that were badly encoded/decoded?
if the system reads the page name as city-hotels-in-p?lgh?t.aspx and the page's current name is city-hotels-in-pâlghét.aspx for example, for sure the file will not be found. Maybe special characters can be escaped in the URL?

your url does not seem right. '?' is special character on the url and you can not use it. If you need '?' in your url then you need to encode it first.

actually there two buttons are there in every row in a grid view.
One is edit and the other is Save.by default the visibility of the Save button remain false.if the Edit button of a particular row is clicked by the user then the visibility of the corresponding Save button will be true.

Hi,
So, then where is the problem. You canalso use the build buttons of gridview for edit the records in grid.

Hi All,
I want to attach Multiple files while sending EMail through SMTP. The files should be attached in a single click and I need the Fully Qualified path of the file .I have used ASP.NET File Upload control . I have implemented the functionality in thid way: Clicking on the browse in FileUpload control attaches a file. And there I have another link button "Attach another file" for attaching another file. All the files that have been attached will be displayed in a CheckBoxList.
But, I want to Browse and attach files in a single click just like GMail.
Please suggest me as to how to implement this. Can I use any Java Script for this.

gmail uses AJAX to upload the file right away. Beyond that I don't see how your code would be any different. Press the button, select the file, and it gets uploaded when you send your form.

Thank You for your reply.
Using File Upload attaches file once. And i need to add it to a checkboxlist in another button click. To attach another file, I am again clicking on "Browse" button in FileUpload click and to add it on the checkboxlist, I need to click on the Add button again. That means every time, according to my code, I am clicking twice. I want it in such a way that in a single click (in the BROWSE click of FileUpload Control itself),the file should be uploaded and added to the CheckBoxList.

that can not be done. The browse button only allows you to browse files in the client machine. If you want to upload the file, you need to use AJAX, as Christian mentioned it above.

I have a dll(Borland C++) that accepts a integer pointer and i have to pass an integer array into it. The integer array gets filled with values and i need to use these values in the ASP.NET project.
How do i do it???

These questions have nothing to do with ASP.NET. They relate to p/invoke and C# only.
