Hi
I created a radiobuttons in groups for my website like here : http://www.doxtop.com/browse/384c0894/email-settings.aspx?private_key=34de2c40 in this link. I used this code for each radio button groups
<td>
I receive a new message from
</td>
<td class="tdRadios">
<input id="rblMsg1" type="radio" name="rblMsgs" runat="server" value="everyone"/>
</td>
<td class="tdRadios">
<input id="rblMsg2" type="radio" name="rblMsgs" runat="server" value="friends" checked/>
</td>
<td class="tdRadios">
<input id="rblMsg3" type="radio" name="rblMsgs" runat="server" value="none"/>
</td>
After clicking save button I want to get the selected values from all radio button groups.
I found that I have loop through all radio buttons in the groups separately and get the values. Is there any other good solution for this.
Or is it possible to do the same design with asp:RadioButtonList if anyone know it could you please tell me.
Thanks.

Hi all
I am using System.Net,Mail.SmtpClient to send the email alert from the web server. the code is mentioned bellow
MailMessage message = new MailMessage();
message.From = new MailAddress("admin@mydomaincom");
message.To.Add("email@mydomain.com");
message.Subject = "EMAIL TEST FROM WEBSERVER";
message.Body = "BODY";
message.IsBodyHtml = true;
SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient("relay-hosting.secureserver.net");
smtp.Send(message);
when the mail is sending from the Webserver to a gmail account or hotmail account it is not repeating...when it is sending to a private domain account it is repeating..(not for all private account)
where as when the email is sending from gmail to that private email account it is not duplicating
I am using godaddy webhosting...
Please help me to solve this problem....
Regards
Vayanan

Code looks OK to me. Problem may be with those private email providers. Try with their customer support.

I run a web application that relies on the database being up. Under normal conditions my ASP.net app connects to my SQL Server database, however, my web host occasionally takes the database server down for maintenance leaving my main app without a database.
I have created a duplicate MS Access database so that it can run things temporarily if the SQL Server is down. Does anyone else do this, or something sililar in order to achieve "poor man's database redundancy" ?
If so - at what stage do you check for availability of the SQL Server ?

It's time to look for a better provider.

I have never done this as my hosting provider is good. All I can suggest is, try to connect to SQL server, if it throws error, catch it and try with the access DB. BTW, a better solution is to find a provider who can provide more server up time.

This has nothing to do with the web provider. I have been with the provider for years and the database has never failed in all that time. Is it not reasonable to expect that they do service pack upgrades on the database as they become available ?
No provider can gaurantee 100% uptime, but unfortunately in the business that I'm in - I have to. So, even though I have never had a database crash, that doesn't mean that there won't be one tomorrow. As my MS Access database is stored on the web server and not the database server, it seems like a good way to keep things going in case the database server is unavailable.

If your SQL Server database goes down, and you start writing to the Access database, then do you have to copy the transactions to the SS database when it comes back up? What about reading from the Access database when SS is down? What are you storing in the SS database?

Yes, there are a small number of tables that would have new rows written into them but it is acceptable and we can do a manual transfer of the data some time after the recovery.

Have you considered working with your hosting provider to mirror your database on a different server? Assuming the hosting provider gives you advance notification of downtime, you can manually switch over to the mirror, then switch back when the primary comes back up.
But if you really want to implement Access as a fallback, I would put the Access code in classes that you could insert when a SQLException is thrown. If you can't connect, go to plan B.

Send AJAX request to server and check new records are inserted. Use JS, setTimeout method and check for new data frequently. If you are using ASP.NET AJAX extensions, you can use the Timer control provided which make things easy.

I have two treeviews in my form, which contains checkboxes for leaf nodes to select. The objective is to transport the selected nodes to second one. I am able to do that, but the issue is I'm not getting in a tree structure, just listing one by one. Can anybody please help?
Following is my code:
protected void AddUnit_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
AddParentNode();
for (int i = 0; i <= AvailableUnitsTreeView.Nodes.Count - 1; i++)
{
AddUnits(AvailableUnitsTreeView.Nodes[i]);
}
}
private void AddParentNode()
{
if (SelectedUnitsTreeView.Nodes.Count== 0)
{
TreeNode Parentnode = new TreeNode();
Parentnode.Text = AvailableUnitsTreeView.Nodes[0].Text;
Parentnode.Value = AvailableUnitsTreeView.Nodes[0].Value;
SelectedUnitsTreeView.Nodes.Add(Parentnode);
SelectedUnitsTreeView.Nodes[0].ShowCheckBox = false;
}
private void AddUnits(TreeNode node)
{
for (int i = 0; i <= node.ChildNodes.Count-1; i++)
{
AddUnits(node.ChildNodes[i]);
if (node.ChildNodes[i].Checked == true)
{
SelectedUnitsTreeView.Nodes.Add(node);
SelectedUnitsTreeView.Nodes.Add(node.ChildNodes[i]);
}
}
}
Cana anybody pls help how to achieve the tree structure in the second treeview also?
It's urgent. pls

I foundout the solution. Thought that it might be useful for somebody. Just add two more lines as follows in AddUnits function:
TreeNode MainNode = new TreeNode();
MainNode.Text = node.Text;
MainNode.Value = node.Value;
MainNode.ChildNodes.Add(node.ChildNodes[i]);
