i have created div at run time but and class is also specified but css not applied to that div why is it so
i create div at design time then css gets applied

View the source of your output to check that the div has the correct class name. If you added the class using the cssclass property it may have appended to the class name or if your css is referencing the ID, check that the ID outputs as expected.

hello,
i am using the WebNavigate to navigate to a webpage from my c# application.
i try to post data to a form which is in that page. (its my page , i control it)
first , what is the name of the field i need to put in the post string?
is it ID or NAME ?
second , i tried various methods but none filled the form textbox with the information i sent. what am i doing wrong?
here's the c# code
WebBrowser Web = new WebBrowser();
string postdata = "ctl00_pass=1234";
System.Text.Encoding a = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8;
byte[] SendBytes = a.GetBytes(postdata);
Web.Navigate(WebBase + WebAddress, WebTitle, SendBytes, "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
.
and here's the website
<form name="aspnetForm" method="post" action="default.aspx?key=5555" id="aspnetForm">

hi
i m using master page for designing a website
my master page has four menus and a dropdownlist.
so amount of code is huge on master page
can i do something to improve the speed of my website.
|
|
|
|
|
Is there any way you can break the menus up and place them on separate pages. Menus really should not have more than a couple of levels of submenus - people get lost trying to use them. Perhaps on the top level you could include only some basic choices, then create separate pages for each major function containing the more detailed selections. The only way to speed up a site is to reduce the page size.

Hi all,
I am having a problem with this ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript.When i am getting any exception the above function shows the message.But when i am using like if the textbox is empty i want to display a message but,it is not displaying.I have defined like
ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "msg", "<script>alert('enter the date');</script>");
I have tried in IE,Mozilla but still not getting.
Can any one tell me.
Thanks in advance.

Your question is not clear.
If textbox is empty, where do you check that in your javascript.
Also why don't you try RequireFieldValidator for textbox validation.
|
|
|
|
|
No actually when i save the data to database,if it is sucessful i want to show the message that is data saved.
|
|
|
|
|
|
i tried that example in c# it is not showing and also i am using the update panel i.e., ajax.

If you are using Ajax, then user ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript function. ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript may not work within update panel after a postback.

For asp.net 2.0, The maximum session timeout is 365 days(525600 minutes).
|
|

We have to set at web config right
<sessionstate timeout="525600">

Yes. Setup in the <sessionstate> element in web.config file.

|
|
Yes i have set the following
<sessionState timeout="240" />
However it still time out at 30min and it doesn't seem to work
i use session variable like Session["Object"] is there anything else i need to set for the time out thing?

I developed my applications on desktop before, but the softwares slowly evolve into a web based application. I want to rewrite my accounting system from desktop based to web based. i started to develop some easy areas of the application but i'm still thinking how to do the multiple entry type mode.
my requirments:
i to want create additional controls (textbox, listbox, etc.) in an active webpage(debit_credit_entry.aspx) without leting the page do the postback ...
in short, a page is a multiple entry type. each control has its own validation, the columns are fix but rows are unlimited. the user is allowed to add rows depending on his requirements.
i dont have any idea how to start do it in a web page environment.
thank you in advance.

AJAX is the way to go. You can use templated controls like GridView for data entry. ASP.NET has AJAX extensions which can make the AJAX implementation pretty easy. Using GridView inside a UpdatePanel should do the trick. For more information on AJAX extensions, I suggest this[^]

thank you for the suggestion...
it seems u get what i mean.
honestly, i don't have so much time reading those e-books and samples... i don't want to be spoonfeed but this time i want to have a specific sample on those controls(gridview, updatepanel...) and how to handle it. by that, i can make me jump start going to dig more deeper.
hope this will not offend anybody... peace

This is cool; an instructive app that actually does something useful, unlike anything I've found in a book so far. I'm having fun and learning a bunch. But I'm wondering about something...
The site comes with two MDF files, ASPNETDB and CLUB, and I assume each is a separate database. Is this typical, and do they need to be separate? The reason I ask is that my hosting provider gives me one MSSQL DB with the package, but I have to pay an extra $50 a year for each additional DB. Is there a reason I can't or shouldn't combine them into one DB?
It probably will be a ton of work to do so, but this will eventually be for a charitable organization, and $$$ are always in short supply. If there's no good reason to pay for the extra DB I'd rather take the time to restructure the app.
Alternatively, I could rebuld them both as Access DBs, since I'm allowed unlimited instances of those. I'd have to do something about the stored procedures, I guess, since I don't think Access supports them...

You can merge your databases into one, so long as none of the table names clash.
An MDF file IS an access database, isn't it ? Or is that MDB ?

An MDB is Access; MDF is for SQL Server (or MSDE). Thanks for the tip!
