1. Turn CAPS LOCK off
2. Try being clearer in yopur question. All you talked about was adding a button in Word, Word is NOT ASP.NET
3. You cannot do this in asp.net, things like this are simply not allowed as they leave the system wide open for viruses.

Caps lock On or Off is not a problem now..if u can just answer for my question ..

it is possible to open a word from asp.net apllicatopn and add a custom button

I am trying to export a chart using the Excel11 object from C#. I can
properly open workbooks and read cells, but calling Export() on the Chart
object throws a COMException

Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800A03EC):
Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC.
at Excel._Chart.Export(String Filename, Object FilterName, Object

at MBCCS.LeParc.Importer.Importer.GetImageInfoFromWorksheet(Worksheet

The line causing this is:

tempChart.Chart.Export(filename, "JPEG", Missing.Value);

Please help me how to solve this issue.

Hi all,

I am newbie in web development. I am using vs 2005, ASP.NET with c#.Currently i am using UpdatePanel(AJAX) to update textbox value from gridview by adding a commandfield(SELECT) the DataKeyNames(values to be pass when event selectIndexChanged fired) in gridview. But it seem very slow in displaying/updating textbox.

So,may i know is a possible to do it by using PageMethods?If yes, please direct me to the correct way Cry | :((

Any tips/helps are welcome,

Moving to PageMethods won't change the performance drastically.
At the first first place, you need to know which action is so much taking time.
As far as I think you need to optimise you SQL statement.

Thanks for reply.I think my SQL is not a problem here. I had tried not to use updatepanel to update textbox, its looked fast than used updatepanel. My purpose to use updatepanel is aim to update certain data without refresh whole page.

Create a web service to process the business logic and call it in javascript. But you can update the textbox in javascript based on the returned content from webservice.

Yes. you can pass any datatype supported in javascript to the web service.

Good Morning All

I have a user control that i have exposed selection of the items through a hiden texbox and it working fine that way. and i have grouped Controls(not a usercontrol)All this are inside an Update Panel. Now in the group controls i have a gridview. Now as i said ontextchange event of the usercontrol i want to update the display on the Gridview and the page must not flicker. i have a link to the Screenshot of my Page. The Left part is usercontrol and the right part is not the usercontrol and at the bottom i have highlisted the textbox that changes when the items are selected. and there is a grid on the right, that i was to update when the text changes from the textbox at the bottom

I am updating some data using detailView.
detailView is being populated by object datasource
I want to keep hold the update mode of the detail view if update is false.

I wrote detview.ChangeMode(DetailsViewMode.Edit); in the detview_updating method. But it changed the mode to Item mode(DetailsViewMode.Readonly).

How can keep hold the update mode ?

In my application I have used window.confirm('Are you sure to insert').It shows a msg box with ok and Cancel button.Now my problem is how to catch which button is pressed by the user at the server side code.and according to that i have to do the concerned functions.

Capture the input and use XmlHttp to transmit the contents to the server and examine the response.

Hi,

I have a generic object of type List<Items> with a sub collection of objects of type List<Descriptions>. I want to bind them to a gridview but not sure if it's possible, I have tried binding only the object of type List<Items> but if I try adding an ItemTemplate with another grid to try to bind the object of type List<Descriptions> i'm getting an error. says "it should implement IDatasource." something.

my column structure in the grid would look like this.

dear while binding grid you must be doing some thing like..

grid.datasource = obj so this obj is not iEnumerable or idatasource

might be you changing generic with something else..
type here obj.tolist() to make it ienumerable...
