CP Team,
I just observed the new 'Pin' icon besides every message title in the forum. I have the following observations with reference to the same:
1) Can something be done to enhance the visual appearance of it? Currently, it is almost next to invisible unless I put on the cap of an owl with an ability of seeing pristine clear through the dark.
2) Once the message is 'Pinned', I feel the tooltip should show as 'Unpin' or a similar lexically correct word/Pin. But it still shows 'Pin'.
Also, a quick intro on this feature somewhere for the benefit of (new) users could help too.

Yeah, it is correct though: it changes from the verb 'pin' to the noun 'pin' and back.

since a couple of weeks bookmarking articles does not work anymore for me.
When i click the bookmark link in an article nothing happens anymore.
Can anyone help me to fix this problem?
I would really appreciate if i could get this feature back.

What isn't working? Bookmarking articles, or viewing bookmarked links to articles?
They are both working as far as I can tell.

Thank you for the fast answere and
excuse me for my late response i used the nice weather
and took some days vacation.
But regarding my problem after pushing the bookmark link nothing happens
the article is not added to my bookmarks.
Before the "bookmark" link changes to "aticle bookmarked"
or somthing like that but that does not happens either.

There is another similar advert in the same forum. These have been following a definite protocol -- a weird four digit number in the subject. (2385 and 2718 in the cases of reported messages).
Perhaps CP Team can try analysing the IPs of these message posted and consider imposing a ban on the traffic from that underworld.

I logged in and tried to set my regular options from Konqueror, but the Forum View only lists four options,
Thread View
Expanded View
No javascript
No javascript no (something else)
I switched back to firefox on the windo'hs box and all the options appear.

K might not (as of the last time checked) supported what was needed for some views. I know Opera used to have a limited subset of threading options because it wouldn't work with the FF/IE code and wasn't a large enough share of the traffic to justify that much custom coding.

The "Article Writing" forum needs a sticky message, Hans must be getting tired redirecting posters over here when they have problems with a specific article.
In fact, shouldn't ALL forums have a sticky? (a lot of them can be identical)

Seeing that bad votes always appear to come in in pairs/triples/quadruples, I can't sometimes help but think that downvoters are not only trolls but authors with some behavioral issues who just register under another name in order promote their own work. The above suggestions looks to me like a viable alternative - after all, after a week, the heat should have cooled off, the "latest best picks" is not a topic anymore and a higher number of votes (on both competitors' articles) should reduce the impact as well. This sounds to me like a very simple solution to a very annoying issue that should not bother new members too much - what do you think?
As an alternative, I'd gladly accept an option not to appear in the latest best picks in the first place. Getting downvoted like it's happening right now somewhat sucks

They'll downvote once, which is less significant (other than 4-5 downvotes in a row). I think downvotes are a rather spontaneous thing and your typical downvoters won't have created a pool of accounts in advance by the time they write their next article. Well besides the pathological ones, maybe...

I am unable to vote on the article: Building your own operating system[^]. I get a page not found error. That worked.
Why is this person[^] having a CP Staff icon? Seriously, is he a CP staff? Looking at the quality of posts he makes, (sample post[^]) I'll be terrified if you've hired him.

Hi Singan were you able to get to the bottom of this?
We too are experiencing this issue where IE (7 and 8) hang when browsing pages displaying code examples and images.
The CPU utilization almost maxes out and IE need to be terminated in task manager.
Our environment uses Microsoft Group Policy to control end users IE configuration however *.codeproject.com has been added as a trusted site and is not restricted in any way.

Can you please try visiting an article and replacing the "www.codeproject.com" with "beta.codeproject.com"? I think we've found the problem.
