In my project i have to create categories and sub-categories and depending on that categoreis, specifications will be defined at run time and whenever we enter the product details, those entered field should be there to enter their respective details in product details.

As you mention in previous post
there can be n number specification headings like for camera it can be:- lens, display,type etc.
then ask following things from admin user to create specification table.
(1)Column name
(2)Column Type
(3)Column size
Extra information according to your project requirement
Create a Store Procedure in your database and pass these specifications as parameter to this procedure and inside procedure create table

i m deploying my website as precompiled web application
now if i want to change any of aspx page then i hav to
again deploy the whole website is there no other way to
deploy my website so that if i change my single aspx page
then i can give only that web page not the whole web site

if u r deploying precompiled application than u hav some limitation as u r facing. in this way u can only replace the compiled dlls in bin folder no need to deploy all the pages and images again..but remember if u adding new page than the html page generated after compilation should be uploaded. and one more thing u must follow, that before uploading new dlls all the old dlls in bin folder should be deleted first.

hi friends,
im using dynamic textbox creation in gridview control. while clicking the textbox i need to display datepicker popup, while selecting the date, it should fill the corresponding textbox.
i get the textbox id while clicking the textboxes. but i dont know how to pass the txt id and get the datepicker popup.
send me if you have any library for datepicker.
if anyone knows, please tell me as soon as possible. very urgent.

Use AJAX Extensible 2.0. Download AjaxControlToolkit.dll version 3.5, in there there is lot of controls as well as Calendar Control.
Use this code after you include that dll.

Well, the obvious point here is that if you want to do something client side, you use javascript, and can pass this method down in your page.

First off, I'm a new programmer, currently working on 70-528. This isn't for a class project, just more about curiousity, then anything else. I came upon the Calendar control and was wondering, in theory is something like this possible:
Use a textfile to store Datetimes/Usernames.
Have the ASP.net website load these Datetimes/Usernames into a Hashtable, or other suitable storage device. Load the Datetimes/Usernames into a Calendar control, so that each entry has 3 parts: Date puts the entry into a certain date on the Calendar. Time puts in into a <listbox> or other similar control on each date. Username puts either the person's username at that hour, and disables it, OR puts "Available" at the hour, and enables it. Users of the website would log-in to the website, and could select the "Available" entries, which would then be changed to their username and disabled. Its disabled, so a user couldn't 'take' someone elses date-time, in the system. The websites administrator would would need to delete entries. A user "Could" convert that user's entries to "Available" but couldn't change other users entries.
example:
Monday Tuesday Wednesday
8am Available SmithB JonesJ
9am BrownS Available Available
10am BrownS Available SmithB
11am Available Available Available
12am Available JonesJ Available
...
User BrownS, could change Monday-9am to 'Available' and change Monday-11am to "BrownS". But, couldn't change Tuesday-8am, or Wednesday-8am, etc.

Has anyone done anything similar, I'll admit I've not delved deeply into your site yet, I did see a couple calendar controls that people have created...I don't need a definite solution, just some suggestions on how would be best to tackle this, what controls, or strategies would be the most robust/easy...

Hi,
I figured I'd use StreamReader to load the data from the textfile to the 'hashtable', or maybe straight into the calendar.
When the user closes the website, or make changes and saves the changes, the changed values would be written to the textfile.

Hi. I want to implement the xml feed from Twitter on my site, but I can't get it working.
I think the problem is related to the XPath, because the datalist doesn’t show any entries at all.
MidText is btw just a function that crops the text to a certain amount of characters, and replaces some characters if necessary.
Any suggestions on what I’m doing wrong would be most appreciated.

well your XPath is broken for sure. do you know anything about XPath ? XPath("//published") may work. The // forces it to search all sub nodes.
