Hi all,

I have seen a solution,which deals with File download in web browser.
and the bellow code gives error
can some one help me what is the problem here...

//make a thread to look for the dialog

{
FindDownloadDialogWindow("#32770", "File Download", 120,
});

From here i tried download dialogue

Obviously.
The function is only described, not actually given, on that blog. It's not to hard to write it, but you seem more like the copy&paste kind of "programmer" to me. No offense, but matching up parenthesis and adding missing semicolons is not exactly high-level.

Your code produces syntax errors. I suggest you try the code harold posted.

If you still get an error, try calling FindDownloadDialogWindow without the thread, this will help you determine whether your call to the method is OK, then add back the delegate call.

Even if i call FindDownloadDialogWindow outside the thread also it gives the same error.

do you have any idea of which namespace or dll consists this FindDownloadDialogWindow function.

You'll need to write the method yourself.

Duplicate record in XML

I use C# and storing data in XML file. the problem is that how can i avoid xml file to save duplicate record. in table it can be detected using Primary Key but how can i do it in xml.
e.g. in xml file i saved ProductID=1, next time when i try to save ProductID=1, it should automatically alert me that Key already exists.
help please

Hi,

XML is just a "dumb" datastructure. Using a database you have a layer between your app and the datastore called "DBMS" (Database management system). This system checks if you try to insert a duplicate key. Using your XML structure you have to write this "DBMS" by yourself. So I suggest write a layer which will check for duplicate keys.

Well, could be a possibilty. Look here to see how it works:

The problem is, that you can add the same identifier to the file without any error message. The XSD will only help you to say, if the XML file is valid according to the defined schema. So you could add a possible duplicate key to the file and validate the xml afterwards with the xsd. If the validation fails you know that the insertion of the key was not correct.

Before adding data to XML file, run a XPath query to see the data already exist. This is not fool proof method as XML is just a text file which any one can open in any text editor and add duplicate data.

Why are you storing data as XML?

If you have relational data (and from your post it looks like you have) to store you should use a relational database, if cost is a problem there are perfectly adaquate free ones available, such as MySql:

or Microsoft's own SQL Server Express:

As it stands, you are making a rod for your own back by using XML, doing all the work that the database can do for you. If you do decide to use a database, normalise it properly or you won't get the full benefit:
