I'll take a look at that. I ended up looping through the dataset and counting the number of records until I matched by record id and then sent that information to the function needing it.
It seems to work but I thought there would be an easier way to access the datagrid _rowid.

I am unsure about .NET 1.1 as it is very old tech.... But doesnt Container.DataItemIndex work ?

I have the same issue! But alas, none of my Google Searching reveals any options that work. Nor do I even seem to have adsutil.vbs on my machine so I can't even try switching between 32 and 64 bit modes.

Have you looked in c:\inetpub\adminscripts? It should be there (assuming that IIS is installed to c:\inetpub).

It should be there but it isn't which is part of my problem. One of the few things recommended to try, I can't do! My adminscripts directory is empty.

If you want adsutil, you have to install the IIS 6 compatibility pack.

Yeah, I finally figured that part out, too bad none of the Vista examples dealing with my problem elaborated on that crucial fact. However, after doing so I discovered that this was not my issue. I was suffering from a ID-10-T fault and had assigned the Virtual Directory to a directory that doesn't exist, obviously creating a Access Denied Permission on the Web.Config (rolls eyes) correcting the VD fixed my problem.
To be honest you would think a better error would be file not found instead of access denied?

TblFamilyTree TblFamilyTree
GroupID,GroupName ID,UserID,GroupID
is there any way to select all items on tblGroup with the count of GroupID from TblFamilyTree...
it must be something like this
select GroupID,GroupName,count(GroupID)

Inner Join TblFamilyTree on tlbGroup.GroupID = TblFamilyTree.GroupID

How about this :
SELECT GroupID,GroupName, (SELECT COUNT(GroupID)<br />
from TblFamilyTree WHERE TblFamilyTree.GROUPID = tblGroup.GROUPID) GROUPCOUNT<br />
FROM tblGroup
Check it out. I think it will work.

Hi guys.
I've migrated an ASP.NET application from a Windows Server 2003 environment with IIS 6 to a Windows Server 2008 environment with IIS 7.
I'm still finding my way around the Windows 2008 environment. I've managed to add the application to IIS 7. There seems to be some compatibility issue I'm experiencing, and I don't know how to fix it.
IE: The DHTML menus don't function at all. Is there some Handler Mappings that I'm missing or is it something else entirely?
Mozilla: The DHTML menus are functioning, but not properly.
Any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

What version of IE and Mozilla did you try? Check if your existing deployment working as needed on the current browsers. It can very well be a browser issue rather than an IIS issue.
I'm yet to get my hands on a IIS7 deployment so no pointers there.

Hi, I have a strange problem. I have implemented a modal popup which works fine when I click on the OK and Cancel buttons. The other buttons on the page also work fine and trigger the correct events.
However, if I click on the Cancel button on the modal popup, then click on another button on the page, it reverts to the behaviour of my target control ID button (OK button). This also happens to link buttons.
Does anybody know what might be causing it?

The problem was caused by me setting the PostBackUrl of the button in the code behind. This has been taken out and I have added left the OnClick attribute to the button in the XSL file where the button is.

You can get the character directly like this:

I didnt get your point. What do you mean by that ? You want to use Menu control in master page ?

When I get this project done we are upgrading to 2008. 
) This is on an asp.net datagrid on an aspx form - not a windows form. Is there a way to get this information? I can see the _RowID in the watch window but I don't know how to access it from code. I have tried searching on Google and I have found nothing that explains how to do it in 2003. I don't want to limit the datagrid. I just want to jump to the page the record is on and highlight it.
