Hello all,
I am developing a site using ASP.NET 3.5 using the default (English) language. I have a drop down button somewhere on the page which has two options English and Arabic with a lable that says Select a language you wish to view this site with.
Please how do I make this functional (i.e to change the site content to the selected Language)?

This is called localization. You need to use Localization features of ASP.NET.

I have a question about defining a foreign key relationship on the same table.
will cascade property work on the table.

Hi Amit,
To create a Foreign Key, you must have a corresponding Primary Key in another table else not on the same table. The cascade on update option (if turned on/selected) automatically updates the foreign key as soon as you change it's primary key in the primary table.

We can create primary and foreign key relation in same table that is what i already tried but on delete cascade property is not working.

First of all, which database do you use?
They all handle such foreign keys (they are called self-referential) indifferent ways.

I am populating a check list box from the database as follows:
for (int i = 0; i < intClassID; i++)
{
strClassID = dtClass.Rows[i]["ClassID"].ToString();
strName = dtClass.Rows[i]["Name"].ToString();
chklstClass.Items.Add(new ListItem(strName, strClassID));
}
So each item in the listbox has an ID
Now I would like to retrieve so that the IDs are selected approprioately. This is what I do:
for (int i = 0; i <= dtClass.Rows.Count - 1; i++)
{
int intClassID = int.Parse(dtClass.Rows[i][0].ToString());
chklstClass.Items[intClassID].Selected = true;
}
It does not seem to get the proper ID's
What am I doing wrong?
is this to do with SetItemChecked(i, true) ?

You are trying to use the ClassID as the index to the items collection.

I have a swf file to display on my web page. For this I used <object> tag. I have some buttons on the same page. Now when i click on some button, It is refreshing the video. Even if I use update panel same thing happens. Is there any ASP.Net or AJAX control to run the SWF files? Can anybody help me?

hi,
I have developed an application. I have used asp:menu control to display menu items.
i navigate to a page, after the page is displayed , when i again move to select a menu item, the speed of displaying the menu levels becomes slow. this happens when i move to a particular page and then move to select a menu item.
I have also observed that the same thing is working fine in ie6, but not in ie7.

How do you load the Menu items ? Are you loading them dynamically from the Database or they are static ?

hi,
i am using asp:menu control to bind the menu items. Binding happens through xml datasource.
also i observed that , menu control becomes slow when there are many items in listbox control in page. when i move to some other page without the list box control the menu control acts fast.

You want to display the word document in your application..!
is it right?
If yes..!
Copy and paste the word document in the server.Map Path
give the link to the word doc..!

If the MS Office Is installed in your System..!
It will show the word doc..!
