My memory - not that I've done file handling in the last 4 or 5 years - says that you can modify whatever you want, you just can't add any characters or take away any characters (so you can't add a line of text to a text file, but you can change "Paul" to "Fred".

If you are using CFile, then the second parameter for the Seek() method is from where to seek. In your case you should seek from the end of the file, using CFile::end. In your code, you are seeking from the beginning of the file.

You need to learn some programming to hook certain exes and get familiarity with headers and formats of EXE's to hook and process according to your needs. This can lead you to better explore the virus and Trojans activities in the system.

I've no idea if there exists a better method, though I'd be inclined to simply query the registry on the server.
Should this be a viable method (security settings may well prevent it) then you may want to check the values of the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
- ProductName
- ProductId
- RegisteredOwner
- CSDVersion
- BuildLab

To retrieve all computers which are visible from the current domain use NetEnumServer.Next pass each these names to NetServerGetInfo to retrieve OS details for clients.Life is a stage and we are all actors!

because some time my network printer and fax machine also detected by NetServerEnum .
so i want to ignore these.
so if i able to check this have a valid os version no or not,i able to ignore there from detection.
or tell me if there is any othe better way to know this.

I have a problem. Don't know the exact reason.
I have created an MFC project which has a default dialog which is having Shockwave player ActiveX. This dialog is derived as
class MyClass : public CAxDialogImpl<MyClass>, public IDispEventImpl<IDC_SHOCKWAVEFLASH1, MyClass>
When I run this project or exe it get's load fine.
But when my setup runs it by choosing "Launch Now" option after successful install then it does not run. DoModal() returns -1 at this time.
While if I run it by "desktop shortcut" or "program files" shortcut then it runs fine again.
Any suggestion or solution.
