hi there,
i want to handle browser event in Global.asax.
i can handle it in page(aspx) but problem is that, same code i need to repeate on each page.
so can i define code only once ....?

I usually create my own class with common functionality for all pages in my application which inherts the Page class.
public class MyPage : Page
{
}
Now, instead of using Page class use 'MyPage' in your aspx.cs
public partial class Default1 : MyPage
{
}
With this approach, you get the same behaviour replicated to all the pages

Hi,
I have set a time-out value of 2 min. When the system time changes, all existing sessions get automatically expired. What will be the problem? How can we solve this? We cannot increase the time out value from 2 min.
Session state mode is "InProc" (Not set anything in Web.Config. So it will be taking the default "InProc" mode. I assume so.)

Who is changing the System Time? Are you taking about System Time or Server Time? Session is a server side cookie. The date change on the server will invalidate the session time and automatically reset the Session Object.
If you are the one changing the server time then, don't do that.
AFAIK, changing the local machine time will not affect the session object in the server.

Web server machine administrator will change the time of web server machine. Is there any way to keep the session alive even if the web server machine time changed?

You cannot keep it alive no matter how much timeout you set. Tell me one thing, what do you store in the Session? May be I could give you a workaround? And why does the Administrator keeps changing the time in the Web Server?

You could consider using Cache for such kind of issue.

Hi,
I need some help. I have an aspx page called Services.aspx and a Page called OrderConfirmation.aspx. On the Services page the user can fill in the form that will allow him to specify quantity of orders. I save this information to an arraylist and then send this arraylist to the OrderConfirmation page using the Session variable.
My question is this:
I have added a gridview to the OrderConfirmation page and bind the data to the session variable. How can I display the results in their own columns?
I am returning the ProductCode, Description and Quantity. At the moment they all display in one column.

AFAIK, you can bind ArrayList to a GridView. Refer: MSDN[^]
Try setting AutoGenerateColumns = True of the GridView.

You can do this with arraylist also but i feel that things would be easier for you if you will use DataTable for the same.

Hi,
I am creating asp.net 3.5 web application. I created crysptal report. I need to export crystal report data to excel/pdf and so on.
In c# 3.5 (windows based) crystal report application having build in export option. But i dont thing its not possible in asp.net 3.5. So can u please tell me how to acheive this if any code for to export is more appreciatable.

I am tryng to work with a page which shows different languages, so I follow the steps:
1) Create a Web Form
2) Add a Label to the Form and add a value for the Text Property
3) Go to Design mode and in the Tools Menu click on Generate Local Resource.
4) Go to APP_localresources directory and rename the resx file adding the en-US language reference (webpage.aspx.en-US.resx).
5) Create a resource file for other language (webpage.aspx.es-MX.resx).
6) endly I tried some ways to get the page in different languages
- change the default language in IE to es-MX
- override the initialize method and change the UICulture to es-MX
But After two days tryng to see the werform in Spanish-Mexican I am not able of getting I only se the label text in it`s original USA text.
Could you please tell me where is my mistake because I don't find any article which does some different of what I do but for me it doesn`t work.

Before I post my message I saw that article and I have done all the steps enclosed in it, but in my application it doesn`t work

Finally I found the problem, I was using local resources for a page and I had Resource files for various languages, but not a resource file by default for the page, so I had Default.aspx.en-US.resx but not Default.aspx.resx, in the moment in which I create such file it started to work.

1. With the master security in WAT, a database ASPNETDB.MDF (default name)
2. It was added a few users.
3. In the folder Reg created web forms login.aspx. It control Login.
But now, if you enter the username and password that exists in the database obtained the same result as if you install anything, then there is an element ID is not connected to the database?
As the element "login" link to the database (in the project she is one).
