hi,
when opening a project instead of having base class as CView, i tried CScrollView so that i dont have restriction of drawinf area but i am getting no where. can some body help me out with fixing the rect size??

Your question is a little unclear. What exactly is the problem? Is it the default size of the created view or a problem with drawing the contents of the view?
Is it a MDI or SDI app?

Hello,
I'm developing a 2D RPG, and I want to take advantage of a cursor with per-pixel alpha transparency. IDirectDrawSurface3::Blt might support alpha-blitting, but on the web I did not find any code samples of it. When I tried to do this myself, I could not even create an alpha surface. Please post such code, if you have it, or say, that it's impossibele.

I don't know exactly what you're doing, but did you checked the caps of the device you're using? This is done by "dxcapsviewer.exe" you should check them at runtime too if you want to be sure (read the D3DDevice documentation)
Also check that the version of DirectX you are writing for is the one you have (current interface for surfaces is IDirect3DSurface8)

I wonder if there is a way to programmatically restart a network adapter on windows 2000 as it is possible via the control panel. I need to apply some settings to a nic (a wireless nic exactly) and the restart the adapter to accept the changes.

However, look at the MSDN CIRCLCOLL for implementation of collection and enumerations it should give you a great start

I want to be able to insert a text file into a rich edit control when the operator drags a file into the control. At the moment it appears that a link is inserted into the rich edit control rather than the file itself. This means if the original file is deleted the copy of the file in the rich edit control cannot be edited. Can anybody point me at an example of how to do this. I have got as far as implementing the callback interface so that I know when a file is being dropped but I dont know where to go from there. I have tried looking through MSDN but I have been unable to find a good explanation of how the facilty works.

Does anyone knows for the fact how IE uses Winsock if at all? It appears to me that IE is using LoadLibrary to load Wsock dll but I think I've read somewhere that it is also done on kernel level (as a part of permanent integration of IE and WIN OS).
I'm asking this because I would like to hook up to Wsock calls (I guess I will have to hook to LoadLibrary first) in order to be able to control Internet access on a particular computer.

I'm looking for Code to put three local-groups to a folder. (With NT4 later as well with WK2)
A top-folder with read right for the domain-users
A Group xx00-LC should get change-right on all subfolders
A Group xx01-FR get read-right on folder 1 (xx02-FR on folder 2 ....)
A Group xx01-MC get change-right on folder 1 (xx03-MC on folder 3 .....)

I'm in a vbscript class and I can't figure out how to get to substring to be capitalized. I need only the first letter of the word captilized.
I can get the first or the last but not both. My code works if I use document.write but not if I use txtTextBox.value.

Some may have seen earlier posts about Universe Technology, but here is the full description of whats going on.
Universe Technology is a beginning company that is looking to make its start in designing web pages that bring in money through advertisement. So far we have two sites that are being worked on by our ASP developers, the site layout itself has already been finished.
We are now looking for people that design Web Pages, and can design them REALLY well. I'm talking sites like everlore.com, starcraft.org, etc. This doesn't mean you have to do the programming, just the site layout. Although that you would have to do completely, HTML and Artwork.
