1) You can use any help authoring tool capable of generating CHM-files (HTML help), see Wikipedia.
2) Performing a quick Google search... there are a couple of tools available, see convert HLP CHM.

If s is a char* -type variable containing the name of a *.chm-type file, please how do I call it as a help file?

With the old help I used a format like:

In my form, I have a DateTimeControl where user can pick the date from the dropdown calendar or can type in the mm, dd, yyyy values from the keyboard. I need to perform few things once user completes editing and tabs out from the DateTimeControl. I tried the belwo options, but none of them are hit when the control is losing focus:

1. ON_CONTROL_RANGE(WM_KILLFOCUS, DLG_CTRLBASE, DLG_CTRLBASE + DLG_MAXITEMS_CTRL, OnFormKillFocus)
and
2. ON_NOTIFY_RANGE(WM_KILLFOCUS, DLG_CTRLBASE, DLG_CTRLBASE + DLG_MAXITEMS_CTRL, OnFormKillFocus)

As, DateTimeControl doesn't have any separate KILLFOCUS notification (I believe), I am trying with WM_KILLFOCUS.

Can anyone help me with suggestions/alternatives,

How to implement the zoom in/out on Ctrl + mouse wheel scroll functionalities of IE browser in CHtmlView?

CHtmlView exposes all the functions of IWebBrowser2 interfce of WebBrowser activeX control, which it uses to browse the webpages. Its ExecWeb method is meant to control the commands such as SelectAll, Find, Zoom etc of IE.

use OLECMDID_OPTICAL_ZOOM. define it as 63 if you get compile error.

Hi,

I am developing serial port communication but i have a problem
while sending and receiving at the same time from the serial port.

how to do the synchronization while sending and receving
data from the serial port.

I have a recevie thread (infinite loop thread )
whenever data is coming from that thread i will update that thread.

When sending from the same port its giving problem.?

there isn't sufficient information here to offer any real help. Except for this:

When software handshaking is not used (i.e. there is no handshaking at all, or handshaking is handled through hardware lines), then sending and receiving are completely separate operations that do not interfere with each other (except probably at the functional level of your peripheral, which upon receiving a command is likely to send a response).

Is it possible to export a static function in an exe using "declspec(dllexport)"?

in order to be exported or imported from a dll/exe, a function should have external linkage. When we declare a function, by default it gets extern storage. but a static function doesn't gets external linkage so declaring it as __declspec(..) will give error.
Also no way to use more than one storage specifiers at declaration.

This is a contradiction. You cannot export a something which is explicitely declared to be local (static).

The documentation[^] says:

GetProcAddress Function

Retrieves the address of an exported function or variable from the specified dynamic-link library (DLL).
...

So you probnably can access exported variables the same way as functions.

The dll is given by some vendor. Just im using that one. I cant define functions in dll.

After linking C++ project with specific .libs and when I run it, how does a system find the corresponding DLLs if they are not in the same directory?
There should be some rules for that, as far as I know.

I am writing a function pointer for a static member function and i am getting a C 2159 : ore than one storage class specified.

typedef static A* (*CreateInstance)();

When i build i get the error . Please let me know what i am doing wrong!!!!

The static declarator is not allowed on a typedef, your declaration should read:

typedef A* (*CreateInstance)();

It's time for a new signature.

You cannot use typedef and static that way. "static" defines a storage type for an instance (of whatever) and is not related to the type itself.

By

typedef A* (*CreateInstance)();

you have defined a type alias for a type "function taking no parameters and returning pointer to A". The name of the alias is CreateInstance and it is compatible with anything which satisfies this type definition. You can use your new alias as follows:

class AProvider {
public:
 static A* Create() {
  return new A();
 }
};

A* StandAloneCreate() {
 return new A();
}

...

CreateInstance Creator1 = StandaloneCreate;

CreateInstance Creator2 = AProvider::Create;

A* tA1Instance = Creator1();

Hi!
I've an array of strings called playerLst.It has many single space strings(e.g "SR Tendulkar"),three two space strings(e.g "AB de villiers") and one three space string(e.g "RE van der Merwe"). I've to split the strings into parts by the space as delimeter. I've split it like this:

vector<stringc> players;
for(int j = 0; j<playerLst.size(); j++)
{
 playerLst[j].split(players, " ",1);
}

Now the vector "players" has strings split by the space. I've printed and verified this. I've to rearrange the last part in every string in the vector. The following code works correct for strings which contain single space in them.

array<stringc> nameFirstPart,nameSecondPart;
for(int i = 0; i<players.size(); i++)
{
 srand(t);
 nameSecondPart.push_back(swapChars(players[++i]).c_str());
 t++;
}

What modification has to be done in the function call, to rearrange the last part of every string in the vector?
Also I've to re stitch the rearranged string to the first part if the string originally has two parts(e.g "SR Tendulkar"), second part if it has three parts(e.g "AB de villiers") and third part if it has four parts(e.g "RE van der Merwe"). How to do this?

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
