Hi
How to get API for facebook, twitter and myspace.
these APIs are free or paid.
my requirement:
We are going to make one web application in asp.net with c#.
we need some functionality like:
we have one email id and we need to check that account for this email id exists or not in facebook, twitter and myspace.
if exists then we need email IDs of this user's all friend contacts.

Hi,
I have a doubt regarding object transfer and the ease of doing it.
An object can be saved or transferred as binary, soap or xml.
An object can be serialized and transferred.
In distributed computing, was there ever an era where objects were transferred
without serialization.
If true, please mention one instance of how it was achieved.

Hi,
to transfer an object you need to serialize (marshal, deflate) it. AFAIK there is no other way of transferring objects.
The transfer itself is done via a channel (cable or air). This channel is like a queue, you have to put bit after bit into the channel to receive them at the other end. So to transfer an object through this channel you have to serialize it.
All technologies I know (RMI, RPC, CORBA ...) work like this.

hello all,
i'd like to know how to implement my scenerio.
my table has a datetime field.
base on that date time, i want to send notification to the users accordingly.
for e.g due date is 30-08-2010 inside my table.
if current date is 31-08-2010, i want the system to send notification automatically.
will appreciate the answers.

You can use a windows service which will once a day look in to the table for records and send notifications if finds any.

For this u need to use windows scheduler tasks feature so that it'll executes a task periodically everyday in a certain time of period . On the other hand create a windows application to and give it to DB connectivity and write code what you want to do. point this .exe to that scheduler task. Thats it...All Over... ...

Hi,
I need to write some application that include image analyzing.
Is there some .net libraries that can make this analyzing easy ?
for example - i need some simple object that can get bitmap stream input and return to me bitstream or raw-data.

i used websmartchart control to create the org chart. I am able to retrieve all the fields but i am unable to display image in org chart. it is retriving means it is showing X mark picture. when i created the database i created the field called image with datatype longblob. That image i inserted manually in database. What could be the problem. Anybody knows please reply me.

sometimes, i want to use messagebox because of debugging.
I know that ASP.net can't use messagebox.
But i think that read some article which explain how can use messagebox in ASP.NET by import dll files.

Hi All,
Easiest to explain if I show an example:
I have a DataGridView which has a column that is a combo box.
I have a dataset as the source, it has two columns: FirstName and LastName.
I want the combo box to display "LastName, FirstName", ie, I want the display member to be a combination of two columns. Is this possible? Or will I have to add a new column to my dataset "FullName" which will be the two added together?

Assuming that you're using Sql, how about concatenating the fields there?
SELECT [Field1] + [Field2] FROM ..

The combobox only handles a single column of displayed data.
It has a displaymember and a valuemember property for binding to the datasource.
But if you must display multicolumn in a combobox then you can concatenante your column values,
like Eddy's shown in SQL. In VB this works like:
Dim FnLn As String
Dim drRow As DataRow
For Each drRow In DataSet.Rows 'or DataSet.Tables("Table1").Rows
FnLn = drRow("Lastname") & " , " & drRow("Firstname")
cb1.Items.Add(FnLn)

I ran into an issue that I cannot do a WORKAROUND with my service under the 4.0 framework.
I converted the service in IIS to 2.0, I converted the project to 3.5, and now I need to configure the service.
It is correct to assume that I must use the 3.0 wcf configuration tool instead of the 4.0 config too?
