I want to find out that how much memory my program is consuming at certain point of execution. How can i find it ???? Actualy the application i developed, is multithreaded and at many occasions, memory is selected from the heap and returned back. I want to find out that how much memory (complete i.e stack+ heap+ etc ) is under consumption by my program. Plesae tell me ???
Note: I want to build this feature inside my application..for example SQL server can tell us that how much resources it is currently consuming. I asked this question last night and someone answered me to look at windows task manager  I repeat again that I want to build this feature inside my application

Iterate the heaps of your app (HeapWalk) and check their usage. As for stack, you'd have to record starting stack for every thread your app creates and... Better just stick to heapwalk I believe.
For a total check, what about GetWorkingSetSize?

How do you clear the selection on a CTreeCtrl in-place edit control? I tried inside OnBeginlabeledit() but had no success, perhaps the framework selects test after this call or i'm maybe...totally wrong 
Perhaps i called the function wrong

the correct form is
SetSel(-1,0);
call this function, current selection will be removed

dear all,
i have an mfc app which starts a thread and executes exe files in the thread at specified times using CreateProcess(...) function.
i use TerminateProcess() to terminate those processes.
Everything is working fine.
i know that ExitProcess() is a better way to terminate a proceess, but when i use
ExitProcess(GetLastError()); the processes do not terminate.
how do i terminate my sub processes using ExitProcess()?
is it safe to use TerminateProcess() b'coz its seems to be working fine.

Are you for real? That call unconditionally kills the process, not letting any cleanup code run. Why don't you be a good boy and either "return retval;" from main(), or "return whatever;" from your WinMain.
Killing processes in the way you do suggestes you want to find the most malicious way to terminate a Win32 process...

There are atleast a zillion ways to do that...
Two comes to mind though:
a. Implement a subset of SMTP yourself using sockets
b. Use Outlook through Automation (COM)

Personally I'd system("sendmail ...");
Please do replace "..." with what's appropriate. If you're not using a real server, who knows what you need. Do you even have an SMTP agent, or do you need to implement that one too (i.e. reinvent the wheel again)?

Huh? You really expect CP people to 1) know what API your target phone platform supports, and 2) any phone supplier being dumb enough to implement MFC in their phone OS?!
Maybe you should first get a grip on what you're supposed to do, and then, maybe, there might be some MSVC/Win32 issues we can help with?

Hello,
I respond to a LVN_KEYDOWN event (List View in column mode) and if the user presses enter, I call another function with the following code. When this occurs, there is the audible beep. I don't want the beep. When I call this same code from the OnRButtonDown() (user presses right mouse button) there is no audible beep. I didn't find any documentation in CMenu that would help me determine why there is a beep. My assumption is that the "enter" key is still in some buffer, and the TrackPopupMenu thought it was an invalid selection?? Any thoughts on how to get rid of the beep?

In the function that handles LVN_KEYDOWN have you tried changing the return value when Enter is handled by your code. Notification functions use *lParam for this if my memory serves me correctly.

Thank you for the suggestion. This doesn't seem to solve the issue. The beep occurs (according to debugger) when I call:

It is probably the KeyUp message which is causing the beep. ie. It is going to the Menu. Have you tried using NM_RETURN instead. Failing that you could add a PeekMessage loop and wait for the KeyUp message before calling TrackPopupMenu.

Has anyone else tried the new CHTMLEditView class in MFC 7.0?? I have been trying to use its method GetDocumentHTML(), which basically takes the HTML of the browser document and puts it in a CString. I find I get access violation errors when I use the method, especially when I have previously pasted in a large amount of text.
I thought it must be me, but I then went to look at the sample Microsoft includes with Visual C++ .Net Standard, called HTMLEdit. I was able to reproduce the same error there, erroring on the one call there is to GetDocumentHTML().
I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has had this problem. How does one notify Microsoft about such an issue??

Me too. Navigating URLs often throws such exceptions. I am not sure about it at that point, but I believe that's because of IE being used as an ActiveX instead of a stand alone app. There are a lot of other known side effects too.
